Wes Lunt QB

Any chance we go after Lunt? He is transferring from Okie St. He is from Illinois, and tt appears as though we recruited him.

I would guess that we dont go after him. This wpuld be mainly because at the QB position we have the following eligibility left:
2 years
3 years
4 years

i would think the staff would prefer a Fr.

Also, depending on whether we have any xfers or not, the report is that he xfer'd due to log jam. He'd be walking into another log jam (Rudock, Sokol, Beathard & Schimonik). Maybe illinoy?

Well I'm assuming he is better than at least 2 of our current QBs. He was a top 10 QB in his class. In his only game, he passed for 436 yards, 4 tds on the road at Arizona last year. I'll be surprised if any Iowa QB has a game like that this year.

FIFY.

Going off of how hard Iowa went after Kiel after he transfered from Notre Dame.....I guess no. Should Iowa look into bringing a kid in that has better arm talent and over all qb abilities then what they currently have on the roster.. My 2 cents to that is yes. When there is a chance at improving your team you do it. I have no clue if this Lunt kid would consider Iowa. But I think the coaches should put their toe in the water and gauge his interest and go from there. To not take the bat off their shoulder and swing is not trying to get better to me. If that action alone would hurt the feelings of the other 3 qbs let alone Lunt actually wanting to come then they need to grow a pair and realize the real world isn't about their feelings. Life isn't fair and this Iowa team is coming off a terrible year and I'd rather have a staff that would actually stick their necks out and try to win then play not to lose or hurt kids feelings out of loyalty. I understand loyalty to a point. But I don't see how the loyalty card would play with the 3 kids currently fighting for the job that havn't seen a snap and by pretty much everyones analysis is that none of them will set the scoreboard on fire without a match. This kid would have to sit out a yr so having a scholly shouldn't be an issue. Besides if he came one or more of the 3 current ones would leave.

He actually played in 3 games, and did well in all 3.

This is a young kid, that wants to sling the ball. Why would he come here and pass for 90 yards per game?

Since we were recruiting him out of highschool, he is from a neighboring state, and our qbs are average at best.
