Were We so Excited About the Win We Forgot to Discuss This?

I had to look it up. In the nfl he would not have been down until contact was made, but not under ncaa rules. Where as in the ncaa a player is down if they fall on their own.

Why would we want to talk about that after the game? It happened early on and ultimately made no difference.

I'm still curious if it was actually a fake. The snap was kind of high and to the side and it looked like he wouldn't have had time to get the punt off. If it was a fake it had a good chance of working until the invisible monster tackled him.

I hate to hijack a thread but when I read the title, the first thing I thought about was going for the 4th and goal. I think it was a smart play and I think it's smart when it doesn't work. We don't win that game if he kicks a field goal there.

From twitter today it sounds like it wasn't a fake.

Coluzzi said it wasn't a fake. Thought (correctly so) that Mich was going to block it. If that had happened, and Mich gets quick, early 7-points, that game might have been different. One of many key plays by Coluzzi.

With Style points.

Not sure why anyone thought it was a fake. The snap was way high and Coluzzi clearly went left to avoid the rush.

Yup, he saw nothing but green between him and the marker. I have to think that invoking the graduate rule was probably the smartest thing KF did in the off season. Coluzzi has been a real gem. I don't ever recall a punter drawing two "running into the kicker" penalties on consecutive plays to garner a first down. All that in addition to having a great night just punting the ball.

Only because it really was right there for the taking. He probably could have gotten 15-20 yards had the motor function part of his brain not rebooted. But besides that, clearly a bad snap.
