We're killing ourselves....

If Leshun Daniels touchdowns wouldn't have gotten called back, he'd be leading the B1G in total rushing yds (439), would be leading the B1G in yds. per carry (8.12) and would be 3rd in yds. per game (109.75). Our rushing total against Ratgers would've been close to 300 yds. And those runs starting the second halves of those 2 games probably would've been 'back breakers' in those games. I think we just need to keep 'pounding the rock' and wear these teams down and open up 'play action'.......

This is a reasonable post. Did you forget to look up on the upper left side of your screen to see who you were logged in as?

You need to study the butterfly effect before making that post. There is a fallacy belief that altering history allows for a certain outcome. It's possible, but there are no guarantees.

We're not talking about weather or chaos theory, we're talking Kirk Ferentz football. It's a pretty safe presumption that, "all other things being equal" would more accurately apply to both the predictability of everything else, as well as the reliability of the final outcome, than the butterfly effect. ;)

Ian Malcolm is my older brother and I'm here to say if Iowa gets those long runs then the trajectory of other decisions and events become altered as well. Besides, the outcome against NDSU shouldn't hinge on a single long run.

As someone else mentioned earlier in this thread, the one major coaching change i would make would be to have a better run/pass ratio. We've had fairly good success running the ball, we just haven't done so consistently.

To me the rest of it just comes down to something is off. I mentioned elsewhere we seem to be missing that spark that we had last year. We've seen it here and there this season for a quarter or a possesion (ISU we saw it the whole game) but haven't been able to sustain. I believe that ability is there, it's a question of when it comes together.

31 passes for 142 yards. That is 4.6 YPA. 41 rushes for 179 yards for 4.4 YPR.

Our passing attack sucks, and has sucked since Greg Davis got here. It is a scheme problem, and since KF refuses to fix it one must assume he is ok with it. Davis need to go, there are so many younger and more innovative OC, that deciding to stick with Davis is just flat out embarrising.

I am not a huge Greg Davis fan......He baffles me at times......

He baffles me too, which was where I was going with my comment about the run/pass ratio today. Both Wadley and Daniels had gone into today with 5+ yards/carry on the season, and I haven't understood why the playcalling has gone away from the run at times this season. It has also been a recurring issue under Davis.

Passing route-wise, for people who were at the game, was wind an issue or something today? I know we only tried to go downfield the one time, and I don't recall Minnesota going downfield much either. Also, aside from one touchback, kicks and punts seemed to be shorter today also. Just asking, as that was something I was wondering about during the game.

I should have killed myself last week. But after the lack of execution late in the game and the clock management, I am glad I spent a week waiting for this game before killing myself. I will check in with you guys tomorrow if I can.

There was virtually no wind at TFC Bank today. Yes, I was there. Weather guy said 4-5 mph from north. I think it was less.

Let's bring in a young guy who knows the QB position very well and can help recruit.

The 2014 Maryland game typifies the problem with Greg Davis: there is no one better at abandoning what is working in favor of what he "wishes" would "work".

In the end, it is the one issue I have with KF. Loyalty is great. Loyalty for loyalty's sake is NOT great.

We went deep once. 15 yard PI. It needs to be 3-4 times a game.

Greg Davis and his schemes, routes do not match what Iowa is. KF has faults, keeping Greg Davis is his biggest.

You can be innovative running a KF style game, Davis is unable to do so.
