Well, what do you think.....

My guess is he will but will still use 2 TE's. That's his MO from NE days. It may not make much difference, this is a good D team.

TJ will get smothered....opening up a grand opportunity for Fant's replacement to have a big game.

Next man in!

We will see the return of the Greg Davis - quick out passing game. That's about the only option that doesn't get NS killed by the pass rush. Probably. Maybe. Either that or plenty of stretch plays to the short side of a 10 man front.

Please, BF, don't design a game plan like the Northwestern game, where you must have called for 10 bubble-screen type passes. NW ate those up probably the last nine of those times you tried it and we would get 0-1 yard each time it seemed like.

Last time I checked our receivers were pretty much non existent. We have none, outside of maybe ISM or Smith making maybe one play a game. Nate will dump the ball off like he did against the mighty NW defense playing without 3 starting defensive backs. This defense is the real deal, and there will be a large discrepancy in speed on the field as well, so the little screens to Easly won't do much. Hey big Nate might have a good completion percentage though so that looks good to people that don't know any better. Our only hope is that their offense is more incompetent than ours is.

If Iowa can’t find any semblance of a running game this is going to be a long day. If they can run the ball and stay ahead of the chains it neutralizes the pass rush of MSU.

Mississippi State gave up 12 total touchdowns all season on defense. Only 4 passing touchdowns all year, and 2 of those were in garbage time. They have an insane defense so don't expect Iowa to do much on offense at all. I would be shocked if Iowa scored 2 offensive touchdowns in this game. Hopefully I'm wrong but the body of work shows that Iowa isn't likely going to move the ball very well at all...especially in the air.

Expect TONS of bitching on the forums about the Iowa offense during and after the game. The reality is that Miss St defense is elite.

Yes, but stubbornly running into a 9 man front ain't good work against this D. We'll need to pass effectively

I think, as I said awhile ago, that the b10 west wasn't as easy as some thought (plus ISU turned out pretty respectable).
I think we lost a few games by a few points.
I think we played a lot of freshman for 2-3 games under the new rules.
I think we had 3 new line backers and a few injuries on top of that.
I think coaches and players have had some time to get their collective _ _ _ _ together before this game.
I think our D has to want to perform better than theirs (since they could be the #1 in the country).
I think we have several guys looking to improve their stock in or get a second look by the NFL.
I think our O has a great opportunity to show who they are against one of the best D's in the country. One that held Alabama to a season low.

I think a lot.

But we all know that's what KF and son are going to do waiting to break one in garbage time preventing the dogs the satisfaction of a shut out.
