Well it's time to make the tough decision

I've been buying season tickets for about 15 years and I've been a golden hawk (Rv parking) for about 5. Each year my family and I spend around 10 grand coming to games and supporting the fb program. The return on that spend just hasn't been there for the past few years. The coaching and playing not to win is not something I can live with.
The home games next year are horrible and I'm thinking why spend all the money. I'm sure I coukd get tickets to any game I wanted. No changes will happen. The AD has proven he's not capable and our coach is so comfortable that winning isn't a priority. I don't mind losing but losing like we did to Iowa state, Maryland, and Nebby and not learning from it is so poor. I love Iowa football but the brand is so stale now. I assume many kids on the team will leave the program because our coach doesn't play our best players. Yesterday there were so many sets when vandy and Hilyer were our wr. Really? Why? Powell was missed on the deep ball but was open. Why not try that 4-5 times a game? Oh yeah because or ultra conservative coach doesn't like that. Right.
I try to stay positive but I think the only way to drive change is to stop spending the cash on the program. I'll probably keep a season ticket or two but all the extras most likely are done next year. The wife's wanted new wood floors and the return on that spend will be better than this season without a doubt.

Resoectully,

beaten down hawkfan.

Damn bro, momma can afford some 6'' Brazilian cherrywood with $10,000 budget...

It's a shame that the only way to get change is to stop supporting the Hawks.

Just like KF has historically put players in bad spots to be booed (McCann, JC etc.) he will now force us to hope the program totally collapses to be done with him.

I am waiting for the obligatory rebuttal from the stalwart Iowa(KF) fan to chime in with the "great, more season tickets for me and my gang" post. Voting your pocket book is the only way to affect change starting with firing GD.

This is why we have fought to defend this great country of ours...so individuals have the right of freedom and the ability to pursue happiness. Right now, there is no joy in cornville.

As fans we deserve better. We really do. I've been buying multiple season tickets and parking passes for over 10 years. Am I a big donor to the U of I? No, but over that 10 years I've spent over $10,000 on those tickets and parking passes. It adds up in a hurry. In past years, I would blindly write the check without giving it a second thought. I will probably do the exact same thing next spring as well, even though I have lost all faith in KF and GarBar to elevate the football program to a status where we are actually relevant again. I love the Hawks, and that will have to be enough for now because quite honestly it's the only reason I can think of to keep buying tickets.

Its infuriating that our imbecile AD won't fix his mistake unless it gets to that point.

There's clearly a problem and the fact that he can't acknowledge it is a complete failure of his job.

Made that choice myself. The money I spend on Iowa football ($10,000 plus) will be allocated to less frustrating endeavors beginning next year.

The 6 in our group won't be upping season tix either. Decided we will take the show on the road and hit the ISU game in LAmes, Midison for the Whisky game, Chicago for the jNW game, and Lincoln for the Nebby game. I think that is a pretty good slate of games, plus I get to see and support my Hawks, while at the same time showing my disapporval of the current state of the football program by ending my financial support.

I did something similar this season. Went to the Minnesota & Illinois games, passed on tickets to many home games. Its pretty awful that its come to this point. Some of my earliest memories of my life are being in Kinnick. But the best thing for this program long term, is empty seats at Kinnick and less revenue.

Actually let me rephrase that last statement. The best thing for Iowa's program long term would be for Kirk to go back to the beginning. Hire assistants like his career depends on it like he surely did in 1999. Then let the assistants do the heavy lifting. Fight for the respect that the program lost. Build a team around toughness and running the football effectively, not stubbornly. Build a team that doesn't beat themselves. And then leave the program in capable hands.

But unfortunately, pride, ego, stubbornness, whatever you want to call it has gotten in the way. He's forced fans to have to abandon the program in order to be heard. Pretty sad all around.

I only hope and pray that all the ticket buyers who are saying "No more....I'm done" don't get sucked back in because of a Bowl win over some crap hole team.

losing is one thing. It happens. But this boring damned ultra-careful game plan KF is so addicted to is impossible to watch.
