Well it doesn't look like Rudock was the problem

He looks pretty good today..all season...throwing the deep ball....running the ball....uh, I guess he didn't fit our style but he sure looks good this year. I love CJB..but me thinks there was a lot of all around improvement this year not just at qb. Is anyone else watching this Michigan game? Harbaugh might not be blowing smoke when he says NFL.

He hasn't been throwing the deep ball much all season. He's more or less been a game manager which is exactly what Harbaugh wants. However, he's been given more support to be that game manager, than he had at Iowa. There were multiple issues with Iowa last season, and Rudock was just a small piece.

Hey look I'm not saying we would be winning with him but he sure doesn't look bad

He looks a lot better than last season without question. He's not dumping the ball at the first sign of pressure, he's taking off on runs when it's there and he's throwing a pretty accurate mid-range ball.

I think the leadership was there last year, just poor coaching. This is one of the first games I got to watch MI. Rudock takes the hike and passes quickly to a spot. Michigan has the receivers for it. At IA, he took the hike, took seconds looking for receivers and then checked down with a loss of yardage. keep watching, and you will see he is still checking down for a loss on occasion. It's just that he has receivers get open this year, whereas he took too much time last year and had to check down or run for his life, missing a receiver that may have gotten open.

Still better off with CJ.

I don't think it would be fair or accurate to try to pin all of the issues on Rudock nor on the coaching staff nor on the other systemic issues that were very obvious last year. That said, don't underestimate the motivation to improve that can be stoked by being pushed out of a starting job.

Anyone watching this game, there sure are a lot of holding penalties on Indiana this week...sheesh....i guess Michigan gets a little respect....and the offensive pass interference against Indiana that took them out of 1st and goal was a joke. Wow.

Just wasn't a true leader and maybe just didn't have the right motivator behind him. Anyone who plays for Jim can probably get motivated. But it worked out for both programs.

I'm sure Jake would have done just fine with this years defense.

With that said, we all knew CJ had the bigger upside. It was more of a fear that he wouldn't protect the ball as well as Jake.

Well CJ has put that concern firmly to rest. He's been the best of both world so in a guy that can make big plays at the same time as limiting turnovers.

I watched Jake the last two year of high school and never saw them let him open up at Iowa. He had a +40 TD every week in high school and many weeks had more than one. The knock that he couldn't throw the deep ball is maybe half right. He does throw a lot of waffle balls long that gets pick off but at Michigan he seems to have started to throw with much more authority. He also had receivers at St. Thomas that are either playing in the NFL right now or at Major Division 1 Schools.

Michigan has better receivers than Iowa including their TE. They would make most QB's look good. Rudock is not a bad QB either. He just doesn't have quite as strong an arm as CJB nor can he scramble as well as CJB.

I have always rooted for Rudock this year, but it is interesting watching Rudock today. Yes, he was always a decent QB, a smart guy with decent ability to run, avoid a sack and throw.

But lets face it. His throws look like they are in slow motion compared to CJ. Ruduck just does not have the same arm. and when healthy, CJ can also look like a RB when needed.

Every thing this season has been confirmed. CJ is better than Rudock, but Rudock could start and be the best QB on more than two thirds of Big Ten teams.

It has worked out for everyone so i do not care.....A win-win for everyone involved.

CJ has, on about a dozen instances, done things Jake simply can't do, likely to the tune of 3 additional wins.

Butt Jake has done well this year, happy for him. Sorta.

Nobody last season said he was bad.

People did say that a LOT of the time he couldn't get the ball to where it needed to go: downfield or across the first down marker.
Fairly important things to do offensively.

Rudick is a great player and will do well wherever he goes. I always liked him. It takes more than one man to make the team good. I wish him the best.
