Well a catch in field of play by Dobbins should be a TD, change rule

I said more to come. When a player like Dobbins last nite catches a ball at about the 3 yard line, firmly has control, takes one long stride and carries the ball over the goal line it should be a TD. Even if after the next step the receiver then falls to the ground and the ball pops loose. I dont care who the player is this rule needs to be changed for pass receptions than cross the goal line.

Ordinarily when a runner gets the ball and crosses the ball over the goal line it is instantaneously a TD. When a receiver does it by catching in the field of play and controls the ball while making a move toward goal line then it is a TD as the ball crosses the goal line. If that Dobbins play happened against the hawks I would see it and accept it as a TD, If a Hawk receiver did what Dobbins did I would think it a TD.

We all know what the rule is when a controlled ball is moved across the goal line.

If a player catches a ball within the endzone but cant make a move and loses the ball then no TD.

posted the same type of thing in a post last night I don't get the difference in distinguishing the runner or receiver at that point. If he has control in my opinion it should be treated the same as running the ball and crossing the line. Adds more confusion to where it doesn't need to be.

The same can be said about the "football move" BS. The example last night in my viewing he caught and controlled the ball, was pulling it towards his body to tuck it away and it got stripped. A football move could not be made because the defender had him wrapped up and no forward progress could be made at that point. I hope they re-evaluate these rules in the off season.

I understand the replay idea but it is really getting out of hand especially when they review a play for 5 minutes. This is the end fo the season with supposedly the best of the best, how can it take them that long?
