I have been thinking about it and I feel like these two are more similar than people realize.
1) size - they are both bruising runners at 225+. Though coker is taller.
2) speed - I actually believe they are similar though I think coker has the edge in top end speed and weisman has the edge in foot quickness.
3) start to careers - both came in for productive injured backs. Both lit the opponents up for big game and big yards. Both became sensations to the fan base. In fact their 1st yr numbers as the main guys are very similar. Weisman has the edge in carries and yards but coker put up more per carry.
Hopefully weisman can get more help next year than coker got his 2nd yr as the guy but here is to hoping weisman can possibly be as productive as coker was. Coker may not have been a homerun threat but neither is weisman and personally I think big bruisers do better in our scheme than scat back types (though combo backs are best). Coker played a lot of his 2nd yr hurt if not all of it and weisman has already been dinged up a lot so we will see if he has the durability or not.
I know coker is gone but I just couldn't shake the theory of how similar these two runners actually were. Eventhough I feel weisman is still a fb and coker really wasn't...mainly because of how they ran (weisman like a bowling ball 2 arms around it and coker more like a tb standing taller and striding out).
