Weird Feeling!

Anyone else! I think they have a fresh Start. I think they'll make a decent run. I think the regular season just needed to get over.

I wish it was that easy...but I do not think players are able to just flush the season and start anew. You see teams every year who were tough at one point of the season and then tank late...they do not magically get it back.

I had a strange dream last night. I saw an over-the-court scoreboard showing Iowa 76, MSU 37 with the second half just starting. Then I started packing gear to go golfing. I haven't golfed for 15 years.

Anyone have any dream analysis for this?

Too much Black & Gold sizzurp?

I think we'll be ready for the start of the game. Not sure how we'll respond defensively to any runs or offensive dry spells. Somebody has to step up and hopefully Fran won't be substituting at the wrong times.

Doc it's been a long season and brutal winter. The vision in your dream is a seasonal depression disorder. I would suggest a nice light lunch tomorrow, go for a nice 3 or 4 mile walk ( 63 tomorrow) clear your head and you should be back to normal.

I'm with you! In my eyes one of two things happened. A good team went through a 6 game slump or a bad team went on a 25 game lucky streak. Which seems more likely?

Seriously 63? Damn. It's 36 down here right now. Winds of change are blowing.

I think we have a decent shot at MSU. It's always harder to beat a team 3 times in a row, which MSU would have to do. But first, we have to beat NU 3 time in a row. Hopefully this shouldn't be a problem.

Were you sitting visitors side, 5th row up, keeping score and eating a hotdog?

If you rebuild it, they will go to the dance... Ease Hawkeyes pain... Go the distance...

In 1987, when I was 10, I watched Iowa take a 16 point lead into halftime over UNLV in the Great Eight. I thought it would be a good time to go play some whiffle ball. My heart sank when I learned Iowa blew the game and lost by 3 (Roy Marble 3-11 from the field and 3-7 FT). I implore you if Iowa is up 39 points on MSU don't go golfing.

Beware people who speak in absolutes...on both sides of an argument.

loesshills, do some homework, buddy. In 2011, UCONN started out 17-2 (5-2) and ended up losing 7 of their last 11 to finish 21-9 (9-9). What did they do next?

Only swept the Big East Tournament, earned themselves a 3 seed in the NCAA and ended up winning the national championship.

But you're right. No one ever gets their mojo back.

I have decided to temper my expectations. If we win out, I will be ecstatic, and if we lose today, I won't be surprised. This team has shown too many times down the stretch that they can't finish. I guess the early season collapses against Villanova and ISU were a foreshadowing of the BIG.

Thanks for the tip. I'll also beware of people that cherry pick one random successful sample in a pool full of unsuccessful samples to validate their argument.

I think the point is that just because a team is playing poorly heading into the post-season doesn't automatically mean that they can't turn it around. The UCONN example provided, and I would also look at the 2000-01 and 2001-02 Iowa teams.. Both of those teams looked absolutely dead in the water going into the Big Ten Tournament, and they ended up winning 7 consecutive BTT games between those two years. So maybe it's possible Iowa will rediscover its mojo, starting tonight.

Obviously there's no guarantee of that, but I'm not writing off Iowa in any post-season tournament until they are actually done.

The point is that it happens, not that it's the most likely scenario. Michigan last year is another example of teams struggling to end the season and then turning it around come tournament time.

They have the talent and ability to do it.

It's just whether or not they are going to execute. If you take their past month's performance as an indicator.. then no. They're not going to go very far.

There are a lot of off the court distractions in play also. Such as McCabe's twitter BS, a falling beam complicating the last leg of the season, and Fran's son's health.

I was just wondering if anybody else was like me and just wanted to get the regular season over with so that maybe a fresh start feel could happen. Maybe Fran can just wash the slate free & say, "Ok guys, lets go out and get it!" Who knows. I can't recall the last time, if ever, I just wanted the regular season done, with what they were going thru. One never knows with a fresh start. Again, I just have this weird feeling. A couple wins the next couple days would be huge. Glass half full.

I prefer optimism, however you may be misinterpreting your weird feeling.
