Nebraska looks like they’re coming back so the Governor may not have to cancel “Scott Frost Day” just yet.
 
Sounds like there's a possibility he'll be back, but how long before he gets injured again?

(1. The one thing that couldn't happen this season was Adrian Martinez getting hurt. The quarterback had his knee wrapped afterward and that's your worst fear. Scott Frost said the news after the game was "semi-encouraging." Maybe that meant Martinez, for now, isn't out for the year. Perhaps we'll hear more Monday.


What a game by the freshman. He played at such a high level it's hard to think about his two turnovers. There were a lot of positives to take from this game for the Huskers, but they need Martinez back this season. Andrew Bunch will be serviceable, but the depth at quarterback is crazy thin.

Lots of folks wondered if Tristan Gebbia was watching and what he might be thinking. He would be starting next week and have his chance to take over. But, clearly, even Gebbia knows his time here would have been short-lived. Martinez is special. Let's hope we get to see more this season.

2. The Blackshirts — and we can call them that again — had seven sacks Saturday. One of the first sacks — when Khalil Davis slammed Steven Montez to the turf — was the hardest a Nebraska defender hit someone in four years. Or more. The defense wasn't perfect, but they were inspiring, flew around, tackled and especially hit. Erik Chinander turned these guys loose. That's going to be fun to watch this season. Given the state of the quarterback position, they might be more important than we imagined.

3. Okay, Akron, count on being back here Dec. 1. That doesn't mean NU won't find a game for Oct. 27, though after watching Martinez go down today, Frost should want a bye week for his players. Nebraska will need a 12th game. There's a bunch of wins out there for this team if they play like this, but they might need every W they can get to get to six.

Time to write the column. I'm feeling good about this team. But they need the quarterback back.)
 
I feel for Michigan state. First the game starts at nearly 11 pm locally for them and then there is the heat. They were saying it is 110 degrees on the field.

As others have said, Eno is running really hard. Would of looked good in another black and gold.

Could James Franklin be any more of an AHat. Air it out for a TD with a couple mins left and up by a bunch?? Challenge a fumble with one min left??
Would love nothing more than for the Hawks to go in there and beat Mcsorley senseless with our D line.
