Week 0: Flailing Frosts and Fidgeting Fitzgeralds Meet in a Dublin Pub

I run a pick ‘em at work with about 80 people in it, and not one single person took nebraska at -13. I don’t think there’s ever been a time where everyone picked the same team
Well you don't work with a bunch of idiots it sounds like. That is a pretty wild number hindsight or not for me today to say. It's Frost we are talking about. He can't get out of his own way. His D got worn down and was toast in 4th q on top of his stupid decision to going for onside kick.

It was like watching a car wreck in slow motion. You could just see it coming. Up 11 in the 2nd half nobody thought they were really going to just run away and win that game. Once NW scored right after the onside kick I knew then they were done.

Gotta hand it to Fitz he coached that game as if KF was over his shoulder. He played crazy conservative most of it on O. Running the ball on 3rd and 7s not caring to just punt it or kick a fg (and miss) He knew NE would make mistakes. In 4th q Nebbys D was tired and quit. Had 8-9 dudes in the box to try and stop the run and didn't even remotely matter.

I'll be surprised if NW is an offensive juggernaut this year. But NE sure made them look capable of it. Crazy fun game to watch from my couch anyway.

Overlooked in all this, is the possibility that NW may be underrated. Obviously, one game is meaningless, but I thought they looked like a tough out. Balanced run / pass offense and fair defense.

We certainly shouldn't be throwing stones at a team for losing to NW as a double-digit favorite. With that specific regard, our house is looking pretty glassy.
