Weather Saturday

I'm leaning towards the game not happening as planned, as least not at the scheduled time and place. But who knows.

I'm in WA state and we always get hit with these "atmospheric rivers" this time of year. But crazy how hard it's gonna hit Southern CA. The 13 year old is currently bitching about heading out into the dark and wet at 6:55 am to grab the school bus. I mean it's like a block to the bus, kid. Can't wear that nice REI rain jacket we got you though. Not cool. Just puts the hood up on a cotton hoodie. Teenage boys are the biggest idiots on the planet.

Thats borderline natural disaster for LA. I don't expect a big crowd. This might devolve into Army/Navy with competent intermittent passing.

Mine is 18 years old and will wear a hoodie, shorts, and sandals with socks when it's -20 and -40 windchill.

I mean part of me is glad he's not a total pansy and he has plenty of cold weather gear because he hunts, we ice fish, he works outside, etc., but come on...

Yeah, given the team is already there and these things are all about the TV money (playoffs included), seems like even if some roads were blocked and people were advised not to be out, the powers that be would still try to hold the game in a nearly empty stadium. (Not saying it will be empty, just that it's more important it can be shown on TV than it is for fans to be able to attend).

Even if the field risks immense damage, USC goes on the road next weekend. And finishes up at home with UCLA in two weeks. They could probably move that game to another location locally if needed, once Dunker, Large and Graves and company are done with it tomorrow.

I don't seem them cancelling a football game because of a lot of rain. Are they that soft out West??

They have held games for 8 hours because of thunderstorms and still finished them. Its gotta be pretty dire to just cancel it altogether.
