Chilly in the low 40's, cloudy with intermittent rain for over 12 hours, tailing off a bit by game time. Expecting around 7/10 of an inch of rain total. Winds around 6mph with gusts to 10 mph.

Some of you might have better insight, but I don't think that is going to have too much affect on play. I say Iowa makes its contribution to a cold dreary day, that all those Penn State fans want to forget.

I don't think it is going to favor one team over the other that much.

No, you didn't!
Too easy ...

Natural grass ... very high quality turf as they have an outstanding Turf Grass Science Program at PSU....
Footwear is going to be the thing. The team that matches their cleats to the conditions is going to have a big advantage. This really is bringing on a feeling of DeJa Vu. The 2009 game is one of my top three of the Ferentz era. Not sure what to think of the 2:30 start but I'm thinking 24-10 Hawks.

Gotta get the right shoes. We blew that one in the Rose Bowl. We were slipping and sliding in the first half, and Stanford was making sharp cuts. The shoes must take into account the slippery, grass field

It's too bad it's going to rain on their parade.

I'm all in favor of a slower field. It should also keep the crowd quieter.
Probably a valid point Not sure it favors either team much Still I wish it was going to be a nice day. This has the makings of an entertaining game and I hate to see weather make it sloppy. Cant be much worse than the wind last week I dont remember ever sitting through a windier day
