The latest forecast that I saw had rain likely in the morning but only a slight chance in the afternoon. It seems to change daily though.

Between the emotional let down after the win against Penn State, then the weather forecast calling for rain and mud. I think things have taken a turn for the Hawks to be favored in this game.

Adverse weather would definitely turn some things in our favor, force OSU to play in a box or cause some turnovers.

Why? Why would it favor Iowa but not Ohio St. Doesn't make sense. What, 4&5* players play worse in inclement weather than 2,3 & 4* do?

I just don't understand why some automatically presume it will be an advantage for the team they root for. Must be a glass half full kind of thing. With the way the fields are now with the prescription turf and drainage, I don't think the weather has that much of an effect like it did 25 yrs ago.

We don't want to play in a box with OSU. We need to get the passing game going, in order for anything to open up. Rain won't help our chances of that at all.

Agree. It isn't like it was back in the day. The game pretty much still comes down to talent gap most times playing Ohio St. Question is if Kirk can coach Iowa up to level the playing field.

Funny...this must be coming from a true, longtime Hawkeye fan...mud and all...anyone else...how many points do you think a sloppy muddy field will get the Hawkeyes against OSU???

Don't think it's much of a stretch to say a wet field hurts a speed team. Definitely seemed to hurt Michigan in their game vs MSU.

Fair to say OSU is significantly faster than the Hawks.

Rain can slow down a faster team and allow for more turnover possibilities. Same can work the other way though.

Oh please. It goes both ways. The offense will have an advantage because fast receivers will know their routes and when they cut, the defenders may not be able to cut as well and keep up.

Yep. With the exception of just a couple positions, their backups would start at Iowa. Hard to compete with that.

If it just rains that won't be a big deal. If it is windy and cold then it is not in our favor at all. In order to win we must pass. Their front 7 we can't bank on running against. If we are able to spread the filed and open some running lanes with the pass we could do some damage, but that is wishful thinking when looking at the game planning for the other games this year.

Weather or no weather, 80% chance OSU wins by 17+, hawks need to play great, do some special things, and have a few breaks to be close. I hope for the close game with a chance the hawks get the upset.
