and lot's of it all day into Sunday........

Adverse weather would definitely turn some things in our favor, force OSU to play in a box or cause some turnovers.
Between the emotional let down after the win against Penn State, then the weather forecast calling for rain and mud. I think things have taken a turn for the Hawks to be favored in this game.

We don't want to play in a box with OSU. We need to get the passing game going, in order for anything to open up. Rain won't help our chances of that at all.

Why? Why would it favor Iowa but not Ohio St. Doesn't make sense. What, 4&5* players play worse in inclement weather than 2,3 & 4* do?
I just don't understand why some automatically presume it will be an advantage for the team they root for. Must be a glass half full kind of thing. With the way the fields are now with the prescription turf and drainage, I don't think the weather has that much of an effect like it did 25 yrs ago.
Don't think it's much of a stretch to say a wet field hurts a speed team. Definitely seemed to hurt Michigan in their game vs MSU.
Fair to say OSU is significantly faster than the Hawks.
Rain can slow down a faster team and allow for more turnover possibilities. Same can work the other way though.[/QUOTE]
Yep, exactly. May allow their receivers to be able to create space with the defenders on short routes as well. Does go both ways.
Yep. With the exception of just a couple positions, their backups would start at Iowa. Hard to compete with that.Agree. It isn't like it was back in the day. The game pretty much still comes down to talent gap most times playing Ohio St. Question is if Kirk can coach Iowa up to level the playing field.
