I still like to see a fullback used too take some pressure off the primary back. If you have a full compliment of halfbacks like Iowa did last year it makes sense to stick with blocking for the fullback, but with fewer halfbacks it makes more sense to give the ball to your fullback a few times a game.
 
I would rather keep it close, avoid mistakes, and make some plays to win it in the fourth quarter.
