We would have won in the last 1:17 yesterday...proof that is hard not to believe

You guys do realize we were going into a 10-15mph wind out of the N/NE and had we been stopped we could have just as easily of lost the game in regulation.

And giving them the wind in OT, just 25 yards from the endzone, was a better option? It's been said already. All we do when we sit on the ball is delay the risk, we don't reduce/eliminate it. The chances of a pick are not any greater at the end of the 4th quarter (in a tie game) than they are in OT. And if they pick it off in regulation, it could be anywhere on the field, and they'd have to drive from there. They pick it in OT, and they either house it or they go on offense at the 25.

That doesn't sound like risk management to me.

Wrong...there was near zero wind inside the stadium on the field, i was at field level and there was not even a light breeze.

What kinda baffles me is that Ferentz has watched his guys drive down the field to win ball games, because they had to. Granted they're different teams, but Stanzi did it in 08 and 09. It seems like when they've HAD to drive the field in a minute they've succeeded 30% of the time. I can't remember the last time they tried driving the field and threw an interception or fumbled that resulted in a score for the other team.

That makes 2 of us then beacause I was on the field the entire game as well. For starters at the start of the game when ISU opted to receive we should have kicked the other direction. At that time there was no wind, but they had indicated that there would be N/NE wind of 10-15 mph as the game went on. I would say the strongest I felt the wind all day was in the 2nd quarter. Had we had the wind at that time, no chance do they hit a 50 yard FG.

The wind fluctuated in the 2nd half and I'm not saying it was a 15mph but it was probably at least 10 in the flight of a punt or FG. Why do you think they went south in OT. Thats right the wind!!!!

I didn't get any more PO'ed than I already was, because I knew darn well even before ISU's kickoff what KF was going to do with that last possessin - hand off and kill the clock.

Iowa's toughest break of the game was making the 2 point conversion.

Exactly, the odds of doing something that would result in a loss in that situation is low.

Even if you go three and out, and punt it doesn't leave them with enough time to do anything.
