We were completely lied to this year....

who saw the merry go round at the RB position,
who saw the injuries on the OL which had 3 1st season starters including a RSFR in Bythe
as for yoiuth just because some were Jr's and SR's does not mean they are experienced
IE; rssr's Gaglione, Bigach, Donatell were all 1st time starters with litte to no playing time
JR Lowery, CJ, Van Sloten were all 1st time starters,
that's 6 upperclassmen 0 starting experience and/or playing experience,
don't confuse age with experience
as for the others, RSSO's/SO Scherff, Donnal, KMM, Weisman and FR Garmon all saw time or started for the 1st time in their career on offense
the defense also had 1st time playing or starting SO Alston, Lowdermilk, Law, LTP and Davis played sparingly as a FR, as for the FR or RSFR Ott, Spears, Cooper, Perry, Fischer and Draper, all saw playing time in the 2 deeps
that's a very young team. the coaches had to work with and for fans to expect a good season out of

You act as if only Iowa has to deal with injuries and youth..Every team deals with those issues during the season. Good coaching allows you to weather those issues. My biggest issue with KF is his **** poor gameday decisions and clock management.

This **** is funny. I don't think I've ever seen a fanbase get butthurt over what some coaches said during spring media day.

You're saying that of all the fanbases that you follow extensively, Iowa is the only one that gets butt hurt over coach speak? I'm in the same boat as you then. Of all the different teams message boards I hang out on all the time, Iowa is the only one with this problem.

Sure, the 4-8 record sucks and the 6 straight losses to end the season really blows. But I'm probably more upset at the coaches just flat out lying to us this year. For example:

1. We heard GD gushing over the talent of CJ and how much of a mismatch he was going to be and how they were going to get him the ball at every opportunity they could. That was a lie. It took until the very last game of the year before he was targeted for farther than 20 yards downfield.

2. We heard GD brag about how he adjusts his offensive philosophy to the talent he has. That was a lie. I've never seen an offense try to force a square peg into a round hole as this offense did.

3. We heard from Phil about how our secondary was our strength and we'd be playing more man coverage than we had previously. That was a lie. Once we got into B1G play, it was the same ol' same ol'. By the way, the secondary, save for Hyde (and even he got burned more than usual), was atrocious.

4. We were told by Phil that, while he doesn't believe in blitzing a ton, that we'd blitz more this year since the strength of the team was not on the DL and we'd have to manufacture some pressure. That was a lie. I swear Norm blitzed more than Phil ever did this year. Gardner is still in the Michigan backfield surveying the field as we speak.

5. We were told by GD that he loves to take chances downfield following a turnover. That was a lie. I can't tell you the number of stretch play left or stretch play right we ran the play following our defense getting a turnover. In fact, I can't recall a single time in the first play following a turnover that we didn't try to go for the big play and immediate score.

6. We were told by GD that he has always thrived in a 2 minute drill situation. That was a lie. I never thought it would be possible to say this, but we were worse in our 2 minute drills this year than we've ever been. Even the "great" KOK never got a delay of game penalty in the 2 minute drill. At times, I literally laughed out loud watching us try to run a hurry up.

As far as I'm concerned, the whole damn lot of them can go.....they've managed to set Iowa football back a decade in the last 3 years. And with the schedule getting increasingly more difficult next year, I put our W/L at 2-10.

WOW. Well said all the way around.

I was fooled by the coach speak but I was also fooled by kirk's actions to make changes. I though he actually had enough of his own ineptness to bring in people whose strengths countered kirk's weaknesses. I really thought he finally looked in the mirror so I guess that's my fault.

Yeah, we got lied to, and we'll all get happy and excited when they lie to us again this spring.

Because it just might become the truth.
