We lost to two of the best teams in the country.

We had one good effort (horrible shooting) and could have beat the #5 team in the nation. Followed by 15 minutes of good effort. I didn't expect the Hawks to beat Michigan...as I picked them to win it all, but it was a **** poor effort in the second half. Loved Fran benching the starters. I like us at home against MSU.

Not panicking but think people need to realize this team is not an NCAA caliber team. Iowa could easily begin conference play 0-5. Will regain some footing with a weaker end to conference play but without any quality wins and that's if this team doesn't go into a tailspin.

Next season when Iowa gains Jok, Uthoff and Meyer (to an extent) is when I expect big things. This team was never an NCAA caliber team with that schedule. Reality check.

Just because we got blown out on the road to the number two team in the country doesn't mean we're not an NCAA tournament team. There's 68 teams in the tournament, the bottom of the bubble has been terrible the last few years. We go 9-9 in the B10 and we'll have a good shot at the tournament. Plus it's basically tradition for Iowa to get blown out in the state of Michigan. Alford's B10 tourney champs who won 25 games, lost to Michigan St by 30 in Lansing. These types of games happen.

I agree with your comments about next year though, that's the first time I'll have real NCAA expectations for Fran.
