We lost to two of the best teams in the country.

Not panicking but think people need to realize this team is not an NCAA caliber team. Iowa could easily begin conference play 0-5. Will regain some footing with a weaker end to conference play but without any quality wins and that's if this team doesn't go into a tailspin.

Next season when Iowa gains Jok, Uthoff and Meyer (to an extent) is when I expect big things. This team was never an NCAA caliber team with that schedule. Reality check.

"We"? You're a clown grad, bloat. You haven't earned the right to use "we" when referring to the University of Iowa Hawkeyes.

Some got expectations way out of whack and started expecting one win in the first two conference games. Most realistic fans expected a rough start to the conference slate and we are now seeing it. Not unexpected.

I agree. Hawks have about as rough of a conference schedule for any team in the country you could put together. The thing I worry about is the teams confidence. That wasn't a very confident team coming out to start the 2nd half and that just snowballed. If they can stay healthy (Basabe didn't look to be himself) and keep their heads up I think it'll be a border line Ncaa tm. Need to have a couple of upsets tho just one big win at home won't cut it.

Ask Ohio State and Illinois how they like playing on the road in the big 10. They both looked like they had no chance to make the tourney during their road game.

You should look at Wisconsin's schedule. Yikes.

More to the point, everyone who thought we would win either of these first two games are stupid and need to be cockpunched. You know who you are. You guys, who thought that beating Coastal Carolina, Coastal Dakota, and Coastal Montana meant we were ready for the big time. You guys, who saw Olesani score double figures against MEAC teams, and thought he would be a BoneG contributor.

Right now, they are about what I thought they were. I think MSU is going to be a real game where we can evaluate this team for the future. We were never going to compete with Michigan on the road. However, MSU is a team that cannot out-athlete us like Michigan and IU did. However, if we play sloppy, go with the screendoor defense, and shoot 20+ threes, and lose in our house, this team will be worse than I thought at this point in the season.

Winning home games in the BoneG is a MUST, because there will be no freebees on the road. Don't count @NW as a win right now.

lots of people on here (looking at you sportstalent) predicted a 2-1 start to the b10 schedule. i said we could easily start 0-7 or 1-6.

the sky is not falling, that's just reality you're feeling underneath your feet.

Yeah, sportstalent usually doesn't know what he's talking about...

I thought we had a decent chance to beat Indiana and I think I was proved right. I figured we had pretty much no shot at all to win at Michigan.

The sky is not actually falling. Chill out folks.

For the sky to fall, there has to have been some kind of an elevated original position. Based on this years results, what are we supposed to have fallen from?

I think it is a little to early to rule out a tournament bid.

Those predicting dancing were counting on some road wins. Let the spin meisters begin!

How do like my eyes?

In all seriousness, Iowa had a great chance to beat Indiana and it is a prediction and I will not meltdown.

If you think Iowa is going to go win a bunch of road games in this conference then you're crazy. There are only a few winnable games on the road, so in order to make the NCAA tournament, starting off 2-1 would be a big deal.

The sky is not falling, Iowa will be fine, the MSU game is huge for their chances to win 10 games in conference play.

The Big Ten is even better than most of us thought it would be. Michigan is absolutely out of sight. I don't think our players were lazy, unmotivated; I think they were awestruck. I sure was, watching Michigan, and I have seen a lot of good college basketball teams. And, when MU got on a roll, they played with all of the confidence of a Christian with 4 aces. As to being a NCAA tourney team: Iowa may not be; but, when they are playing well, they certainly look like they could be. Iowa will be better than a number of teams that get into the Big Dance. 30 point first round blowouts are not unheard of, after all. Are we really ready for he big stage? Not yet.

No worries from me. Yesus, we've seen losses that bad every year - i.e. routinely at Breslin - over the last decade, out of teams that were as good, if not better and more experienced, than this one.

It's a nut-punch reality check. Young, inexperienced, relatively talented team gets waxed by legit national title contender on the road because they abandoned / were played out of what was working (inside attack) when the better team buckled down and imposed it's superior athleticism and talent. As is likely to happen to young teams, they fell apart on both ends of the floor. What did you expect?

If something like this happens at home, or at a place like Purdue, or God forbid, NwU, then squawk away. Otherwise, accept the reasonable outcome between a title contender and a marginal bubble team and move on.

It's still nearly chalk to get to 9-9 in conf.
