Even Penn St kind of has one in Battle. I just see this as the difference right now going down the stretch in this game.

Truly disappointing....a game we could have easily won and will end up losing by 10 or more because kids make poor decision after poor decision. Even when the opponent makes 5 empty trips in a row.

Penn State kind of has one? Battle has been like 2-time All Big 10 and will be first team All Big-10 this year. Battle and Brooks are better than our two best players. The team with the best players normally win.

The poor decisions are a result of inability. This team struggles to score, especially when defenses dig in. We were beat pretty soundly the final 30 minutes of this game. It wasn't "poor decisions" but PSU is a better team especially at home.

I just wish we would have took advantage of their over aggressive defense in the second half. They were occupying our offensive players space and all you had to do was drive and shoot to catch a foul. May at least missed out on two opportunities to do this where McCabe was able to do this at the 2 min mark.

They do have better players than us, and at home with the way they were hitting from the three they deserved the win.

But I hope we can see our offense improve at attacking a defenses weakness better. And not being afraid to attack for foul.

Tailors performance was awesome though.

Yeah, I really enjoyed that.

Penn State has ZERO fans at the game, and the team will be horrible next year... this game displayed how poor Indiana is. The bottom of the Big Ten is really bad teams.

Thats what I was thinking. PSU definitely has one, but the point remains for Iowa.

Everything else being equal, I wish we could add Jake Kelly back to this team, because for the 2nd half of his last year here he was becoming that guy. Oh well, if ifs and buts were candy and nuts.....

After that game I was asking myself, is Iowa that inconsistent or is Indiana just that bad? I think both. After last nights performance, I'm not sure Iowa will win a road game in the B10 or even another game at all.

I hope McCaffrey can bring in a go to guy that has a little fire in his belly. Once teams turn up the defensive pressure on us, we wilt. While PSU was high fiving and chest bumping, we were sulking to the bench. I don't know if it is a matter of the guys just realize they can't compete, or if it is a confidence issue. It is disappointing to see us contribute to our own demise by turning the ball over, missing open shots and giving up offensive boards at critical times.

This team needs a turnover in personnel. And not like the last few years where the most productive player leaves, but one where less contributing players are replaced by better players.

Gatens and May would be GREAT roleplayers at the top Big Ten schools....therein lies our problem.

Excellent point. Tough topic for sure, but I am just not sold that second tier in state talent is going to get us where we want to be. We never get the blue chip kids and we haven't had enough of a foundation to be able to sprinkle role players in. Instead we end up with mismatched parts year after year and continue to fall behind in the athleticism department.
