We Have ZERO Fundamentals

A $3.8 million HC who has been here 11 years and we have no fundamental football skills. Oh, it's 41-38 Iowa....final will be 44-41 ISU thanks to Kirk's cowardice on 4th & 1.......

And our ability to stop, what, 10 or so 3rd or 4th down and prayers? They converted EVERY single huge play they had to make regardless of yardage.

Actually Iowa plays with better fundamentals than just about any other team in the nation. Ask the NFL scouts/coaches if they respect Iowa's fundamentals.

You just caught a hot QB (ala 2002 and Seneca).

Everyone needs a serious reality check when a Cyclone fan is the most sensible person on the board right now.

Iowa D had so many chances to make plays. They just couldn't keep ISU contained on critical downs. Frustrating . . .

The coaching staff is old and stale, we need new blood and coaches who actually know what todays game is like, not coaches who still think its 1995.

You guys post this same stuff every year after a loss or two, right before you're staff leads you to a January bowl game, which you usually win.

We weren't saying that while hoisting up the Orange Bowl trophy in January 2010. Our D just played like crap, bottom line.

65% 3rd down conversion rate for ISU. And was probably 100% from 4th Q on.

I truly believe it's more our schemes than players right now. We have NFL talent on this roster, and the defense does just fine during 1-3 quarters. But when the offense goes to a hurry up mode, our scheme cannot handle it.

A January bowl game has no meaning any more, save perhaps to a school like ISU. With Iowa's success, not to mention how much Ferentz is being overpaid, the goal is to win the national championship.

I did not get to see the game but I listened on live chat...After our first two series and two scores, the coaching staff went ultra conservative instead of just going for theier throat.

Another wasted loss to a very pi$$ poor team that is not going to win more than two or three more games all year.

But then as conservative as our coaches are with no imagination, we may not win more than two or three games the rest of year and deservedly so.

He handed OSU a win a couple of years ago because the coaching staff has no balls, and now they handed ISU a win because of ultra conservative play and no balls.

NW will beat us again, hands down; Nebraska will beat us for the final humiliation of yet another lost season.

This coaching staff deserves to be raked over the coals with very difficult questions but the Iowa media certainly won't ask any tough questions.

A travesty that Iowa played so poorly...they simply were not ready (AGAIN) for this game. Between the mistakes and the very poor coaching we lost...AGAIN.

Next up La-Monroe...think the coaching staff will call any tough plays or will they try to run Coker up the middle every play.

This staff wastes more talent than any team in the conference....

If you don't make the 4th and 1 Iowa State had a kicker who made a 54 yard kick. If Iowa State makes one first down it is a pretty easy FG for the win. I think the coaching staff was going to try to win it in regulation, but Vandy looked to change the play at the line to a run which gain two yards and then we gave up five yard on a penalty. That took the game under a minute and left us with a 2nd and 13 and Kirk decided to play for OT. If we didn't have those two mistakes at the end of the game we would have tried for a FG, we started out in the no huddle.

You are kidding right? Because I can't take you seriously with this line in here.

Id say when Jantz looked at running and our backs left their guys alone all game that it shows a lack of fundamentals. We were neither aggressive nor safe, a very bad combo.
