We have Wisky right where we want them...

Everyone will be talking about Wisky and Gordon's record setting performance and no one will be giving us a chance. This is typically where KFs teams thrive.

Can't wait for Sat!

Ah, I think not. They just obliterated Nebby and we will be lucky to stop Melvin to half the yards he had yesterday! Unless we get one of our games that we just can do no wrong (NW) I don't see a shot in the dark to stop that horse. I want to be wrong but lets get real, wisky and in particular Gordon is going to outclass us and we will be b****ing about missed tackling and poor angles from the lb among others.

We'll be a classic let-down game for Wisky. We'll shut down their running game and force them to pass. Yes, yes, I can see it now...

They are 3rd in the nation in rushing yards per game. In their 2 losses they got 268 and 284 rushing in those games. Wisconsin and Gordon are gonna get theirs on the ground, there is no doubt about that. The question is can the D hold them to FG instead of TD's and can the offense put up 30 points, cause that is what it will take to beat Wisky.

This does appear to set up nicely for a KF team. He usually pulls out a win against a team we should not beat. Injuries happen and maybe this is the game that Gordon blows out his knee. Wiscy will be feeling really good about themselves. Iowa takes them down in classic KF mode. A low scoring field position game where punting is winning.I would love for this to be the game where we go against our tendencies. Use misdirection. On side kicks, fake punts because thats what it will take to beat them.

I can't see any circumstance with iowa winning this game, the two best rushing teams we faced in Maryland and minny iowa looked awful.

However, at home, after the vadgers had a blowout win, look for iowa to cover. I'm guessing the early line will put iowa at a 7-10 point dog. Id take iowa to lose late in the fourth quarter by 7-10

Brah, you know that ain't happening. Wisky could have 4+ turnovers and Iowa still might not get 30.

I agree Gordon is a class all his own.....

but out how does the rest of WI outclass us???

You do realize Wisky has the #1 ranked defense and #3 ranked scoring defense don't you? We will be lucky to get 100 yards against them. Weisman won't make it back to the line of scrimmage. Their lines will push us around the entire day, as there have only been 2 games all year that they haven't been shoved around(NW and Ill). Pretty much their whole team outclasses us. Actually our best qb(CJ) outclasses Stave, but he won't see the field as we get to watch Rudock crap his pants all day.

Put 8 in box and lets see what happens. Hopefully, Meier can hold up, King is struggling a little bit, but Lowdermilk,Mabin and Lomax are getting better in run support. I like Iowa's chance at winning this more than most.

I have been saying since the ISU loss that Iowa will need to win shootouts. To me, that means playing CJ. If kfootball stays with JR, then we will be hard pressed to stay with WUs. I think it is a little naïve to this, with this defense and the personnel there is to choose from, Iowa can game plan a defense that will slow down WU's running game to a point that will allow Iowa's plodding offense to keep pace and win the game by scoring more points.

Slap and scrape at that ball....stand 'em up, and someone get their hands on that ball, that's how we can have a chance anyway...That game yesterday had all kinds of miscues on both backs....Gordon & Abdullah both had some issues....Who knows what the answer is against Connie....I felt that once they were in the game, their "D" played outstanding, getting to the ball, wrapping up, and making plays...God, I hope we can pull this off....Tall order but at least we're home....Gordon hates it here, and that might enter into his mind...fans will be on him like white on rice...

Seems like Iowa should be watching a lot of jNW tape, both in terms of remembering what we did to jNW, and what they did to Wisky.

It is imperative we start quickly, get the crowd going, and put their gameplan on the arm of Stave/McEvoy over the legs of MGIII.

It's gonna take one heckuva Hawk performance, plus Kinnick as the 12th man, but this Wisconsin team is not indomitable.

Anyone saying they like are chances really can't mean it. Wisconsin is better on both sides of the ball. Wisconsin is #1 in Total Defense and #15 in Total Offense. I have no idea how Iowa wins this game. I will be rooting for an ice storm or blizzard.

OP you mention this is where typical KF teams thrive, but this isn't one of those team. Actually far from it...

If somehow we can work CJ in the game early and limit Wiesman to 2 carries in the first half we then stand a chance, all be it a slim one. Otherwise if we think for one minute that we are going to beat them straight up with our lumbering fullback and happy footed quarterback we are fooling ourselves. We also need to bank on a high ankle sprain to Gordon or this game gets out of hand fast. I would love to see us take the ball first and take a long deliberate 80 touchdown drive to get the fans involved. If Wisky gets the ball on the opening possession and drives it right down our throats then the thought of the minnesota game creaps into our psyche and that will snowball out of control.

I do. Wisky QB play is that bad. If the Iowa O can do their part and get 17-21; MG can go off for 280 and Iowa still could have a chance to win. Difficult? Yes. As impossible as you are making sound? No.

Wisconsin was unstoppable in 2004 as well. Highly ranked and obliterating their opponents. Iowa killed them.

Gordon won't be stopped, but he can be slowed. Hold them to field goals and win the turnover battle. The defense will need their best game of the season. That is Iowa's only hope.

If old man Ferentz is serious about playing for another championship in the twilight of his career, then he had better have his best week of preparation ever. No room for mismanaging the clock this week. All hands on deck.

Correct, if Iowa can give up 300 + yards rushing, they can overcome that. What they can't do is turn the ball over, or let Stave go all Leidner on them through the air.

Isn't it funny, that the very thing Iowa fans are sick and tired of KF for (playing to win the TO battle and winning field position) is the only chance of beating Wisconsin and Nebraska........Ironic, cause I am sick of it as well, but even I realize this is the only way to win these last two games

Let's see, we fail to set the edge against everyone we face and Gordon had about 250 yards outside the tackles. If we hold him to 200 yards I'll be happy.
