Love Bohannon but, other than defense, what he needs to improve on is learning when not to try and make the unbelievable, highlight-reel pass. Lot of those got picked off this year.

And the offense died when that happened because JBo isn't as comfortable off the ball, and Williams dribbles the ball around without a knack for running the offenseBut imagine if there were 2. In Frans offense the PG job is to bring the ball down and setting up the offense, after that it's all motion. If Fran was to bring in another PG Bohannon would still get the ball a lot, just like Jok did in the 2 spot. The difference is you would actually have someone who is capable of handling the ball at the 2 spot. We've seen a little bit of this when CW was on the court at the same time as Bohannon.
I get that he isn't and won't ever be the quickest guard, but when did that become the lone qualifier for a PG? Look at Dickerson. He was way quicker than Bohannon the other night, but does anyone think he would be a better PG for Iowa this year?I think people are confusing "we need a quick point guard instead of Jordan" with "we wish Jordan happened to be quick". Because there aren't many quick point guards out there that are better all around players than Jordan. He has to absolutely be on the court. So the only question is where. He isn't good at guarding point guards, shooting guards, or in the zone, so defense is a wash. On offense he is the best passer we've had in as long as I can remember. In my opinion, that makes him a point guard.
In my lifetime I can't recall a more dangerous Iowa PG. Averaging 12 assists per game in tourney games as a Freshman...are you kidding me. Plus his scoring capability, Yup I'm feeling like he is going to be flat out the best Iowa player (yes player) in the Fran era. Even if he loses his amazing shot and can never find the stroke again I will forever remember this last half of the season as the most impressive ever by an Iowa Freshman.
I think Ellingson was on the court, I remember thinking they were setting up a 3 point shot. Good point on Pemsl, if you're looking for a put back I think Cook is the one you want. I don't remember if Baer was on the court or not, he should have been.
