The way we have slid at the end of the season... and the NCCA still used the dumb F***** RPI over anything else.

Now fran must learn to not schedule cupcakes that destroy our RPI - almost effed us out of the tournament.
 
Why the RPI is used when there are metrics that cannot be nearly as manipulated just confuses me.

RPI is why the committee picked Wisconsin a 2 seed vs. MSU being a 4...and Louisville a 4? Wow. The only aspect of Louisville that doesn't look impressive is RPI.
 
1 game can literally change your entire year.

Last year the loss to Nebraska cost is the chance to dance.

Loss to NW punched our ticket to the play in game.

Yeah they try to down play it... but this RPI is their number 1 metric.

I hate it. Play in game? Pfffft. Lose that one, and there will be no Iowa hoops on the days the tournament really and truly beings. No one cares about the play in game except the fans of the teams that are playing in them. Even tournament pools don't make you pick those games (at least not the ones I've participated in).

Hope Iowa can beat TN and join the field of 64.
 
They got what they deserved. LIMBO. It's not in the field of 64, and it's not NIT, with a chance to prove themselves vs tenn and rise to Heaven/NCAA tourney. It sux, but they are the ones that couldn't get the job done down the road, esp the loss in BIG to jNW.

Agree 100%. Even just beat Northwestern last Thursday and we are not in this situation. The selection committee just told Iowa "Prove that you belong". This is fair. Doesn't mean I have to be happy about it, though.

hawk for life... your posts make it seem like you were handed a life sentence. Couldn't you have asked for the death penalty instead? You're obviously a miserable SOB hawk fan.
 
This could be a blessing... we need one game to get our feet back under us. This should be a fairly easy game... then we'll have the mojo back.

Tennessee is better than UMass. This isn't an easy game, even if Iowa plays well. Tennessee is physical, they rebound, they are athletic defenders, and they play slow. Bad match-up.
