We can play zone today...

Minnesota only shoots 33% from 3 pt range...so I would at least try some zone today to see how it works out. However there are two things I don't want to see going forward.

1. Staying in the zone when it is clearly not working and not even giving M2M a shot.
2. Playing zone at all against good shooting teams like Illinois, NW, and Ohio State.

My faith in the coaching staff has decreased exponentially after seeing the game plan the last 2 games. Hopefully its just an anomaly.

Don't know if that's a good idea. Hoffarber would go for 40.

Maybe a box and one?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Iowa put on a little 1-2-2 trapping defense early in the season? I thought that worked a bit for them. Did they go away from it or what?

I would at least like to see M2M at the start. It's pretty obvious this team isn't ready to handle the responsibilities of a zone defense. Iowa needs to pressure for TO's. That is the only way I see Iowa gets a win today. They need to turn over MN 20 times and have no more than 9-12 themselves.

I don't like going out trying to win by having the other team beat themselves by not shooting well.

He'll go for 40 no matter what Iowa does...over the past decade it seems as though Iowa has become quite good at leaving the other team's best 3 ball shooter wide open all night...

The problem with zone vs. Minny is that 1) Hoffarber will go nuts and 2) you can't get a body on Mbakwe, one of the Big Ten's best O rebounders.

I expect Iowa to come out in man to man.

I would prefer man as well...just saying that my head won't explode if we try some zone today.
