Way too early guess: any 2014 NFL picks on this year's roster?

Granted, we have only seen a Des Moines practice and a spring game, and there's a whole lot of football ahead this fall, for better or for worse. The annoying TCS video in the right frame is looking at top NFL prospects in college football for next year and that got me wondering whether anyone on the 2013 Iowa roster has a realistic shot of making it to the next level? Who, and what round would you predict?

CJF if they can find a way to get him the pigskin and he can hold on to it.

I tweeted about this this other day:

Draftable based on '12 film:
CJF(~2nd-4th)
Lowery(~3rd-5th)
Kirksey(~4th-6th)

Priority Free Agents:
Morris
Hitchens
Miller
Van Sloten
Boffeli

I predict Scherff to have a good year and leave just as Reiff and Bulaga did after their junior years.

I would say van Van Sloten is a late rounder. Morris could play his way to a late rounder. Then I think scherff could come out early.

These off-season evals aren't doing much projection/expected improvements for '13.

Van Sloten's career trajectory has been pretty similar to former Iowa RT Markus Zusevics. Zeus was a little more athletic and a little less physical inside. Van Sloten has looked smoother and more physical this Spring but I've held off on giving him a draft-able grade until he faces some live bodies in '13. It's hard to get a good eval of him working against Iowa's inexperienced DEs. Van Sloten got worked pretty good opening week vs NIU last year and also worked over pretty good vs MSU as well. That said I think he improved substantially as the season wore on. He defintely has a chance to play his way into a draft day selection; teams are desperate for OTs every year. My guess would be most scouts have him on their short list but he'll need to continue the upward trend.

I'm not quite sure what to make of Scherff as an LT prospect. He doesn't have the feet that Reiff does. Scherff was a "get it done" pass protector for most of 2012 and monstrously effective run blocker. I think he'll probably stay at OT when he lands in the NFL, but he could also me a mauling OG.

My guess would be hitch going before kirskey but I could be wrong (it happened one other time I can remember).

Thanks, HGF! Always appreciate your insight on the games and the spring game and I trust your judgment as an evaluator of talent. This team seems rather short of it but there is some, it appears. Just not quite as much as some Iowa teams of the past.
