Iowa State came first, offering Nielsen during an unofficial gameday visit in October of his sophomore year.
That offer opened the floodgates. Iowa, Kansas State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota State, Penn State, Tennessee and Wisconsin followed suit over the next five-and-a-half months.
