Watching Two high School Teams on ESPN

It's still a stupid question. They may have one or two players that could play on Iowa's team, but they don't have 5-6.

It's the bottom half of the rotation (guys 4-7) that would cause the HS team to get crushed.

I think some people take for granted just how talented the players on even bad division 1 teams are.

It's not stupid at all and the OP is correct. The two teams on ESPN last night would have beat Iowa. Look at their roster

#9 PG in the country going to NC State
#15 F going to UCLA
#18 C going to Purdue
#18 F going to Memphis
#5 SG going to Georgetown

and a bench player going to Charlotte.

The entire team is stacked of top 100 players. With the way these prep schools go now a days, there are generally 5 or so every year that could beat average D1 teams

You didn't word this very well so I'm not sure how to respond. Is that just one team's roster or a combination of the two rosters?

I believe that is just Oak Hill.

That is only one team. 4 ranked hs teams played on epsn and all 4 would have kept it close against us.

That's a fairly talented team for sure but again, I think you are underestimating just how big of a difference exists between college basketball and high school basketball.

Or maybe I'm underestimating how bad Iowa is.

I said it in the Ames thread and I will say it now. No high school team would beat Iowa. It may seem easy to make that assumption because the Hawks are not playing well, but it just wouldn't happen.

Are you including prep schools?

Well.. there's no way to prove it so basically everybody is just engaged in a ******* match right now.

Iowa does not have a lot of talent, hardly any actually, and it's obvious. To have Captain Obvious beat the dead horse over and over again and bring it up every week though is what bothers me. We know already.

Quick question. Who's more annoying, an eternal optimist or an eternal pessimist?

Depends. If times are bad, and pessimism is warranted, then the optimists are more annoying. If times are good, the opposite is true.

No, it is the fact that they are bad that bothers you. If they were good and he kept talking about it he wouldn't get bashed like this.

Okay. Whatever you say, brah.

That just isn't true. I don't think you understand the lack of talent on the Iowa roster. Those high school teams have grown *** men on them just like Iowa, except some of those kids are talented enough to make the NBA. No one on Iowa's roster will even sniff the NBDL. The lack of athleticism in the back court makes every game potentially close.

David Palmer disagrees with the D league part. You can't tell me you ever thought he would stick on a d league roster.

6'9 tops and you're telling me after he left Iowa you thought he would end up in the D League?? You are a lot smarter then I thought.

I never thought about his pro abilities when he left Iowa. But it is a lot easier for 4/5 types to make the NBDL because there is such a lack of size in basketball and he is skilled. I also hope that you never think that I am smart...
