Watching the Ia-LSU 2005 bowl game

On BTN right now. Those who seem to denigrate the BTN don't seem to realize how great it is to be able to see these replays. I know many don't have the "retired" time to watch this stuff, but you will some day + the wonder of the DVR! Incidentally, I don't watch the replays when Iowa loses. No fun in that!!

Any football team could win a lot of football games with that defense. Can't wait to see Iowa's defense get back to where it needs to be.

I still have my DVD of that game my aunt gave me. She works in the UofI President's office. It has 3 broadcasts of the game:
1) Official ABC broadcast
2) Broadcast overdubbed with Dolph & Podolak
3) Broadcast overdubbed with the LSU announcers (last 3 minutes of this is hilarious)

#3 is fun to listen to for the last 2-3 minutes of the game.

I watched the end at least 7 times last night, that probably makes 100 times in the last 7 years.

just...awesome.

The fact that it was Warren's only touchdown just makes it better....oh....and the fact that no one noticed that the clock was running and we had 2 timeouts....the haters would have freaked out....although that would have been awful.

Alas....it was MAGIC !

That would be a GREAT DVD to have. I do find it interesting that the president's office would have something like that. ;)

I couldn't believe how fast LSU fans evacuated the stadium. They were gone in seconds it seemed. Absolutely greatest game I've been to.

I attended that game and will always be grateful that I did. Three things come to mind...when LSU scored to take the lead with seconds remaining, the Iowa fans kind of leaned back and I heard comments like, "well...it was a hell of a game."

When "the catch" occurred the place went absolutely wild. Later, I saw pictures of Warren running with the LSU fans in the background with their mouths open, shocked...I still have that still picture. But, the noise on the Iowa side was absolutely deafening...could not hear yourself think.

Finally, as we walked down the ramp after the game, every few seconds, the crowd would spontaneously erupt into absolute bedlam. Again, and again and again.

I have watched this numerous times on BTN.
"Numerous times?" How about every freaking time it is on? Okay, maybe I fast forward through the commentary. But it is definitely worth the watch every time.

I watched this game live at The Other Place in Overland Park, Kansas and that bar was packed with 200+ and some good friends. When that game ended there was almost a mosh pit with these 40-50 year olds I was with all erupting. It was incredible. And IIRC, Casey Weigmann made it back from the last Chiefs game of the season on the road and was in line that morning to get into the bar.

I arrived right before the doors opened but got the best table in the bar. I bought Krispy Creame donuts for the staff and they let me in right when I arrived, much to the chagrin of those in line that didn't have my foresight:)
