Washpun Commits to Tennessee

If Washpun is project then what do you call most of the current Iowa players?

I'd call every one of the scholarship players Iowa has more advanced offensively than Washpun, although I would give Washpun the edge at free show shooting over Archie, sight unseen.

Washpun,imo,was not a difference maker,long term.
We could have used him,but there are many other pgs out there who can be as productive. I would still prefer Darius Smith,as he could bridge us to 2013,when we only have one scholly right now. Smith is a combo and can help us immediately...which I am not sure Wes could do.

I used to laugh when someone stated that a forum such as this one influenced the decision making of a potential recruit, but I know better now. I have talked to two D1 recruits that stated to me that the forums and what was being said was a part of their final decision making process. One stated, 'why would I want to go where I was not wanted?'

Then we had Canzeri and he only confirmed what I had already been told. The next thing you will see is other teams fans coming on boards as fans bashing them with the hopes of steering them away from competition...could already be happening...
You don't think that the opposition doesn't already go to rival boards and bash them?
I am glad to hear that kids use message boards to some degree to see what's going on but it would be very foolish to use it as a major factor in your decision to attend college somewhere. There are always people trying to bring others down so they don't look as bad so kids need to base their decision mainly on the school and the coach.

Then given that, I'd call recruiting a player of Washpun's ilk either wrong or desperate.
