Was yesterday "the last straw" for you?

Sadly, it was not for me. The last straw came in November 2010, when Iowa lost to Minnesota. The problems have mounted since then: players kicked off the team, impregnating teammates' girlfriends, the whole rhabdo thing, and throw in the same old coaching and play that has resulted in losses to Iowa State, Minnesota and now Central Michigan.

This isn't a football program, this is a soap opera.

2010 was the last straw for you clealry, cause it ain't like yer hanging out on some message board two years later crying your little sissy as5 off about Iowa football or nothin....

I'll always be a Hawk fan but I am done defending Ferentz. This program has grown stale and needs a change. I hate the direction they are going in. Recruiting and attrition has decimated the program and we are now seeing the results of it.

Throw in the fact that Iowa took two steps back in the hiring of Greg Davis and there you have it. This starts at the top and yesterday officially forced me to not defend Ferentz anymore.

KF called. He doesnt know if he can survive without you being there to defend him anymore.

It was for me... in the short term. Instead of spending the time and money to drive 600 miles round trip again, I'm taking my lady somewhere for a fall weekend getway. And I'm selling my tickets.

It's a win/win. I'm up a few hundred $$, if we win I'll catch in on TV and rub the Goophs nose in it. If not... we'll walk away and have a great weekend.

I'm not going through what I experienced yesterday... 2 weeks in a row.

I done with them till we get a new coach, this one has run its coarse and going to leave the team how he got it.

No, Hawk Fan for Life, but it doesn't mean I'll spend $$ to attend games. I'll always at least watch the game if possible. They could go 4-8 every year and I'll still watch, just spend less money.

That's a pretty broad stroke. Was it the last straw for Ferentz, the coaching staff in general, certain players or just the whole team. Be more specific.

I was done with him after the Western Michigan game. But I still have always watched them and cheered them on. Yesterday was the first time ever that I stopped caring completely. To much emotion and money spent to care anymore.

A soap opera? Please... do you follow any other Division 1 FB or BB teams, professional sports, the news or even a soap opera? Do you know what a soap opera is? Have you ever even watched a soap opera? Do you know how the "soap opera" came to be named?

Go ahead tell me.

btw quite occupying Kinnick and go back to Occupy Wall Street. You don 't even get that.

This is probably for the best. People who are emotionally children prolly shouldnt watch football.

I still am a Ferentz guy. But my faith is slipping fast. Then again, I wanted to give Licklighter one more year.
Thank God Barta didn't listen to me as we sat around crushing Natty Lights.

I lived through the 70's and will always be a Hawk fan. 2002-04 was great and at times I felt we had something special in KF. At other times I felt we were the luckiest team in America. I started losing confidence in KF during 2005 season. Michigan game we had our home win streak snapped was horribly reffed, but also horribly coached. The next week against NW was even a worse job by the coaches. I have had very little confidence in KF since then.

What I don't get is where you're going with this. What do current events or any other sports team have to do with my assessment of Iowa football. By the way, they're called soap operas because they were sponsored by soapmakers like Procter & Gamble. And just like the style of play your boy likes to run, they're nearly extinct, save for 3 or 4 shows. Now go back to Kirk and ask him for some more Kool-Aid.

Is Duffman the final KF apologist?

I doubt you'll find the final one. The question is, will no one ever be satisfied? Kirk haters complained about the coordinators. He changed those. They complained about him running out the clock at the end of the first half with time and timeouts on his side. He's changed that approach a couple of times this year. They complain about him not being aggressive. He's gone for it on 4th down like three times this year when it wasn't imperative in the game to do so.
