Was It the Uniforms?

I have been going to Iowa home games since 1961. One team that has absolutely owned us in that time has been Ohio State (our record in that time is 5-35-1 against them). How do you explain this remarkable, unprecedented 55-24 victory? Remember, Ohio State was ranked #3 in the AP going into the game.

We looked faster, stronger and more energized in the alternative uniforms. Could that have been a factor?

Who knows, but they darn well looked really good. I know there's a lot of people who like the traditional look though.

But I for one don't care for the steelers uni's and prefer those worn on Saturday.

Will never happen of course but my belief is the players liked them as well and am sure that makes somewhat of a difference mentally.

If they are going to change them, they need way more contrast on the numbers. I'm a relatively young man and I couldn't read the numbers from the back row in the club. I have no idea how Dolph could read them.

in all seriousness, i agree. but they need to stick to the steelers unis. we would have looked just as fast wearing those, cuz the reason we looked fast is cuz we were playing down hill.

Of course not but I thought they were badass! And I wasn’t alone. ! Live in Gopher country and had many people saying they loved Iowa’s Uniforms Saturday..

they definitely looked good. But they aren't an every game uni, in my opinion. Uni-color uniforms don't really trip my trigger. I loved the helmets. The rest of the uni was ok, but didn't grab me as much as others.

I agree not everyday but it won’t suck to see them again..

It was the new jockstraps the players wore. Some said it made them more feline....you know, quick like a cat.

maybe the players thought they looked good, so they played good. Look Good Play Good (oregon's slogan)

I completely agree with this. I was at the game and couldn't read the numbers either. Of course being in the 75th row may have been a factor. :D

I must say though that the view was much better than expected (section 108) when I bought the tickets a month ago. I'd definitely sit there again.

It was reported yesterday that we will be wearing alt uniforms in '18 and probably '19 and they very well could be the same exact ones.

Because we are too cheap otherwise??

Break out the mothballs!! Lol

Explain why their azzes looked tighter and faster in those pants then ..................sorry my bad. I digress.

I was row 79 for years. My buddy is back row in the club. I wouldn't have it any other way. You can stand whenever you please and boy, was I pacing nervously for long stretches on Saturday. But I'm glad I wasn't the only one who couldn't see the numbers. I could make out some, but telling the difference between 5, 6, 8 and 9 was next to impossible.
