i turned down uno to go to simpson and god was that a mistake with the student loan debt i have now! i did get some great friends from simpson so i wouldn't trade it for the world but if i was offered something from grandview id take it. my degree has gotten me no where and going to simpson i thought a degree from there is all i needed atleast thats what i was told by admissions.
in past some kids would give up going to iowa central for wartburg, coe, luther, simpson central w/e it is but grandview is is a pretty good location and the facilities are top notch. if i am fortunate enough to have a boy who has the choice of where to wrestle and if its not at the d1 level i will strongly encourage going somewhere that has a scholarship program over simpson easy
Yeah, Central grad here. Even though our schools are supposed to hate each other, I totally understand where you're coming from, especially the bolded.
At the time I was a high school senior, I wouldn't have considered GV even with a scholarship. But costs now are more than double what I paid and the job market for new grads currently sucks. I'm glad I had to use and develop my mind at Central and I did have a great experience and meet great people, but maybe you're right about more people going the NAIA/JC route. In the current context of college cost, scholarship money would speak louder than ever.
