Waiting for the other shoe to drop??

It is quiet on this board. It makes me wonder if a lot of posters are just waiting to make it through the Illini game with a win before even investing time to type some replies or start a thread.

Or is it apathy now that a lot of people think the team is average at best. Well they can be good.

I am looking forward to watching the game and seeing if they can look good for 4 qtrs. I am sure the players and coaches expect a win.

I can understand the apathy part though because it seems not a lot of new stuff has been added since the UNI game, not a not of growth and even some going backwards on the away games.

But get past the Illini hawks and that could set up a tremendous game with Wisky.

Why is everyone being so quiet?

I've been battling epic dental pain for 3 days...had a root canal this afternoon. My daughter (who's home for the weekend) picks me up and informs me she's transferring to Iowa State.

I've asked my wife to hide the knives and guns. If we lose tomorrow... all bets are off.

(my life insurance is paid up)

I'm sure you're on painkillers, are you sure she didn't say "I cant stand Iowa State"?

Guess Im gonna have to watch the damned game. Wish I could be doing yardwork instead but with forecast calling for 3" of snow there won't be anything else to do.:(

Personally, I'm not sure what to expect tomorrow. On the one hand, we got so manhandled at Minny, it's tough to think these kids could rebound. But if they do, perfect. But, where the hell was it last week?

And it's all been repeated this week. Tomorrow could cement a disappointing season if we lose, cuz we'll have little chance at the B1G championship game. Or we could still be in the hunt.

After seeing the Minny game in person and how bad it looked......it is hard to get those images out of your mind. I think most people feel letdown/hopeless in regards to the rest of this season and how easy this schedule is compared to prior years (although the opponent bye weeks to prepare for us maybe does not make it as much of a slam dunk as it appears it should have been) and we will likely fail to make the Big Ten Title game. They are good enough to look very good one week and average or terrible the next. It is like Lucy pulling the football away from Charlie Brown.....you hope it will not happen, but know it will......and that leads to apathy. Combine this with Ferentz's management of the program and all of its weaknesses through the years (clock management, special teams, conservative offense, etc) and people are certainly waiting for "the other shoe to drop."

It will be a pleasant, PLEASANT, surprise if Iowa can go 3-0 down the stretch and likely play OSU, but odds say that will not happen.

Worn out from saying so much earlier and just plain apathy imo.

How 'bout shoveling 3" of snow?

If we win it doesn't change much. Some will claim the ship is righted again (especially if we blow them out) and some will still be cautious.

IL has a good QB and some talent at WR. Their defense is so bad tho, but our offense can make any defense look amazing.

So yeah I think a lot of people are just waiting to see what happens today. If we win easy, expect more positive posts.

If We win in our typical fashion, expect more apathy.

But if we lose, expect a lot of negativity. To the point where other than a few loyalists, KF is done

I was wondering this, too.

What can be said has already been said.
Again.
And again.
Repeatedly.

The emotional tank drains after awhile.

Lose to Illinois and that is filled-to-overflowing. An ugly win will give more juice to quite a few.

There's a lot more to say but why bother.
