this scenario would say another coach is leaving or the LeVar will not be the line coach.
 
Do people really think that anyone but Parker is going to get the job? Ferentz is just going through the required steps before he announces Parker.

As loyal as Ferentz is to coaches, no one else will get the job. Plus, he knows Parker will run the very same defense that Norm ran. Ferentz is not about to take a chance at this point of his career...nothing risky and Parker is not risky in KF's opinion. Plus, even if he doesn't do the job, he will get 4 or 5 years at the position.
 
BF does not equate to DC. I would take him as an OL or TE coach, but not a DC. Either Bradley or Parker would be fine, but I don't see Phil being too happy if Bradley gets it, unless it's a co- type deal.

I've felt this way all along, but the fact that the application deadline was extended makes me question that a bit.

I’m telling you, these guys on these message boards all would make terrible executives if they talked and thought like this openly across a dialogue table. It really is sickening…..thank goodness they aren’t in charge of the football program; we’d be the laughing stock of college football. Here is a guy good enuff to be on the staff of what many (including these brainiacs) consider one of the finest in football and yet here they are STILL complaining…..

And to think Levar would go out on his own and say something KF wasn’t okay with is….well what’s the point. Honestly if you use your head, you can really surmise a lot of things about people, life and what is likely and what isn’t. For the most part there are few people on here like that…….

you forget the possibility Reese Morgan may retire,
that makes the 2 openings legit
as i believe Woods as already been given the D-L coaching position
 
Bradley! Parker would have been named a long time ago and BFerentz isn't going to be coaching any Defense. If he is in, then it will be on the offensive side of the ball. His TE are playing great and maybe Morgan is stepping down.

Maybe they are waiting to announce after NSD for the hire so no one jumps ship. That could be the DC job and the OLine position. Just wait and see.

When? There were no other jobs posted. They can't give it to Woods permanently without going through the posting process. If Morgan retires, there'll be another job posted.
 
i could see parker get dc. and that would allow woods and brian to be asst coaches. this would just leave who would coach what?
 
Not surprised at all to see Brian Ferentz named. Kurt's contract is assignable to a family member and there is no better way to continue the legacy than passing the torch to Brian.
 
What about Parker to DC, Woods to D Line and Brian to D backs? I just don't think KF will give any thought to anyone outside of his circle. I hope I'm wrong.

Did you ever think that KF and stafff are having a little fun with the fans and message boards? They knew the recruit would be asked lol. Could be wrong.
 
I don't believe Brian Ferentz will be Iowa's next Defensive Coordinator. I could see him come on board as a member of Iowa's coaching staff, but not the DC
 
I always thought it would be Parker, but like Dwayne, the fact that the deadline keeps getting pushed back has me thinking otherwise. If you weren't at least considering outside candidates, why not just name Parker and get it over with?
