Just some thoughts. I am not a fan of the videos playing every time I go to a new page. If I want to watch a video I will play it. I don't want to hear someone talking when I open a page and be forced to look up and down the page and stop the video. And it is happens on a lot of pages at HN.

It only happens on content articles, not on the message boards. These videos will remain on the content articles as it has helped us be able to reduce the number of ads here on the message boards where ppl spend 95% of their time. Expect there to be audio on when you read one of our articles.
