Q. Is there a point real late in the game where you go from obviously want to win it but make sure you don’t lose it?

. . .

We learned a hard lesson in Minnesota in 2015, come out, a 60-yard run, hit it against our goal line defense, totally unexpected, just grind the situation out and all of a sudden we score a touchdown. Now they can and get a two-point conversion. They can kick an on-side kick. That’s the only way we can lose the game.

Penn State two, years ago, the only way we can lose the game, we lost it. We probably lost the football game is by scoring a touchdown, because now you give them an opportunity to come back and take the football.

Huh? So, Daniels and Wadley are supposed to go down at the 2 yard line instead of scoring? Another thing he said that makes no sense. And I'm a supporter of BF, but this answer and the answer about the end of the first half against ISU don't add up.

Technically the "headier" play, to avoid bringing a whole bunch of other variables into the equation, would have been for Daniels to go down on that play somewhere inside the 5. Force Minnesota to burn any timeouts remaining and then there is almost no time for them to get TD's, kick onside kicks, or make it any more interesting than it had to be. Or, we could have played better defense and not let them score the ensuing TD in 2 plays...that might have helped a little bit.

Also, earlier that game we chased points (2 point conversion attempt to go up 14 instead of 13 when it probably wasn't necessary) which didn't help.
