Rob- Where do you think Connor fits in in terms of the college game? Do you think he's a PG?

I was talking with some people about this topic over the weekend.

I don't see him as a true point guard in the classic sense. I think he'd need to improve his lateral quickness to defend Big Ten lead guards.

He's certainly capable of playing the position offensively. He sees the floor very well and can handle it.

I would say Connor is a combo guard with good strength and an improving shot. He can rebound well.

I think that's fair... I know there's been talk of him improving his shot but I just don't see him as a strong wing position player and I think he has some real weaknesses like the lateral quickness you mentioned to be able to play the PG.

With that said, he's certainly going to be a smart player and know the game so perhaps similar to a Bohannon, the basketball IQ and mental toughness and some of the intangibles may help overcome some of the physical limitations.

Dumb question, but as Fran's kid doesn't he probably already have pretty good use of the weight facilities and strength coaches suggestions for him?

Where is he currently ranked nationally as a recruit? I thought he was a top 100? Just curious.

I watched a little of the Xavier game on the public access channel. He was running the point on the offensive end and guarding the post on the defensive end. Has that been the norm throughout his career? Combo guard is probably right, majority of his minutes will be at the 2, he will get back up minutes at the 1.

IC West had more post players in the past (Tanner Lohaus and Wali Parks last year, for instance). Connor has had to guard bigger players before, but not as much as he has to this year.

By the way, IC West lost on their visit to Minnesota this weekend playing Cretin Durham-Hall

I just don't see it. He doesn't have the quickness it sounds like, and his shot, although improving, is still pretty low and slow IMO. Is he really 6'6, sure doesn't look it in the video? As I've said I think he sticks to baseball, but if he plays next year I don't expect a a huge impact.

Oh well, I've been wrong before, and I love a high IQ player like Baer so maybe that's what CM will be. Hope he proves me wrong.
