Look what Iowa did against Pitt when they figured out what they're good at. They will be playing against worse Defenses than Pitt's the next 3 games, and michigans D isnt outstanding either. So ya with our offense compared to our upcoming opponents, I do see us winning out b4 NEB. Or at worst loosing 2 more.

Pitt started playing prevent D. We did nothing earlier in the game. The offense is going to have to start clicking pretty quick if we are going to do what you say. Not impossible, but I just don't see it.

Iowa really needs to show a lot next week for you to think they won't lose again and win at Neb.
Also, Michigan's D is not outstanding, but they force turnovers, don't give up a lot of points and get off the field in third and short situations.
That could all change this week when they play MSU, but they are much, much better and they have the best defesive coaches in the nation coaching them, I will take Mattison over any other D-Corrdinator in the nation any day of the week. Beat them this year because it will be a while before you do again.

Many fans tend to go up and down with each game. After a win there is all kinds of excitement and after a loss the Hawks suck or the coaches need fired. This particular game was frustrating because I think most Hawk fans thought we should have been able to beat PSU using the passing game. Everyone knew it was going to be tough to run on them. We also knew their offense was not very good and that would be a welcome relief for our inexperienced D. Although they ran at will against us, our D only allowed 13 pts, should have been a win. Our passing game was not very good and the running game was typical of this year. Vandy looked nervous in the pocket at times and our receivers dropped some balls. I don't think you can put that on the coaches.
It was a bad game, no doubt about it. Time to leave it behind and move on. Good thing is there is another game this Saturday. I will look forward to a win! I still think this team is bowl bound this year. The sky is not falling.

Berg, your delusional if you think Iowa will win the rest of their games. Since this is your first season on Hawkeye nation we'll give you a break. All this bashing, whinning is called a meltdown. It happens every time the Hawks lose. It last about two or three days then reality sets in and everyone focus's on the next game.
As for Penn State's D being "very very good", they were a good defense. Not great. Its true that their front four will probably be in the NFL next year. They are an experianced group. But Iowa's OL is experianced and should have handled them better. Lack of execution killed Iowa's offensive hopes more than Penn State's D. Iowa's defense was dominated by an offense that has moving the ball all year.
So far Iowa has lost to two teams they shouldn't have. ISU is hardly a great team and PSU is a team with problems. So where is Iowa after having lost to these teams? Probably not as bad as some think, but not as good as other think either. They might still get 6 wins out of this season and make a bowl game. If they don't next year will be better.

If KF does not use his uptempo offense, the games between Indiana, Purdue, and minnesota will all be very close and Iowa might very well lose one or more of those games because of KFs 'play not to lose' coaching style.
If you think KF will blow out any of those teams using his seven play playbook, you are delusional. Even if Iowa gets up by a couple of TDs he will take his foot off the gas and go ultraconservativer and allow the other team to get back into the game.
I would not be surprised at all if Iowa loses to one or more of those teams this year. That is KFs style.

Oh, we will have a chance to put the game away or we could score a lot of points with the uptempo offense but KF will call of the dogs and (or) quit using the uptempo and go to his seven play playbook. NW will get back into the game and will win the game in the 4th quarter. Then everyone will brag about how Iowa hasn't been beaten by 10 points in 50 games.

I suggest you watch more football before embarassing yourself with more posts like this one. We are not a good football team and trying to whitewash it won't fly. PSU barely beat Temple and ISU has been blown out against TX and Baylor. Pitt got destroyed against a decent WV team. Lucky we aren't 2-3.
PS: Any team that has fans that care has fans that get a little po'd after a loss. Iowa fans are extremely forgiving because our bar is set at 7-5 or 8-4, not big ten champs and Rose Bowl.

Iowa is a good football team. But good will translate to a 4-4 Big Ten record.
THis is FAR from a young team....if you think this is a young team what is going to happen next year when we lose a ton of starters.....we might not win a game in the BIG next year.

i do find it funny that before the season, everyone was predicting 7-5 or 8-4 as a record. now we are 3-2 and people are upset. they're playing right into your expectations
I have watched more football, and it. Seems obvious that you and the rest of you who are done with the season, are not looking at the big picture, we have a weak three weeks coming up, nd im sure that when we are 5-2, u will be praising this team. I will then call you out when it happens.
dude iv always known iowa to have a passionate fan base, this isnt new to me. But the whole calling for kirks job is getting old. We fire kf, then the same thing that happend to basketball will happen in football. The program would die
