Vegas Odds to win it all

I don't think I've ever seen 3 teams as co-favorites to win it all.

KS/NC/MSU - 5/1
Kentucky - 12/1
Virginia - 15/1
Oregon/Villanova - 18/1
Oklahoma - 20/1
Xavier/Duke/West Virginia - 25/1
IN/MD/Miami - 30/1
Purdue/Cal - 35/1

Iowa State - 60/1

Iowa - 75/1

Give me Kentucky, Virginia, Oklahoma and Xavier...based on the odds. I don't like chalk...especially in a tournament this wide open.

Edit - Temple is 500/1 and Iona is 1000/1.

Agree, Kansas has a horrendous habit of choking in the NCAA tournament. Not matter how good they are, it's hard to ever pick them to go very far. They just don't play well in the tournament most years.

One other team, albeit nowhere NEAR as pretigious, has the same problem.

That team?

Iowa State.

Thought it was interesting to look at the odds of all of the 7-10 match ups in the NCAA Tournament (all 4 games on Friday). Odds according to ESPN's score page.

#7 Iowa (-7.5) vs. #10 Temple
#7 Wisconsin (-2.0) vs. #10 Pittsburgh
#7 Dayton (-1.0) vs. #10 Syracuse
#7 Oregon State (+4.5) vs. #10 VCU

Not sure what conclusions can be drawn from this, but quite a wide variance in lines on the same 7-10 line.

It's as if Iowa is seeded too low or Temple should be playing in the NIT...could make an argument for either. And it would appear Oregon State shouldn't be a 7...not sure why so much Pac-12 love. Maybe the Pac-12 is better than I think they are.

Reminded me of this:

Kansas is the only 5/1 team in my Final Four. And that's only because I don't know which team will beat them and didn't want to completely destroy my bracket for that region.

My bets from October are Iowa, Arizona and Villanova...just glad they are all in the field.

of course they are, just ask Steve

This. But, then again, the way we played the last three weeks we should be too.

I'm under whelmed by their non conference success. Below is the Kenpom ranking of their 6 non conference wins.

217 - Minnesota
275 - Delaware
273 - Farleigh Dickinson
256 - Penn
348 - Delaware State...Seriously, Delaware has 2 teams?
264 - LaSalle

They beat Minnesota by 5 and Penn by 4. This team should be in the NIT...IMO. If I could pick any team from the at-large pool to play I would pick Temple.
