I think an interesting team is San Diego State. These guys are athletic and they play hard nosed defense. They went into Kansas and beat the crap out of them...when Kansas was starting to play well. They forced their will on them...and Kansas couldn't get anything in their half court sets. I wouldn't want to play those guys to get into the round of 16 or 8. Fisher has built a pretty impressive team...not overly deep, but if they stay healthy...very tough out.

In the games Iowa has lost, I wouldn't say it's lack of a killer instinct...I think they go cold from the field. Look at our last two losses...OSU and MSU. OSU - 3 for 20 from three, MSU 14 minutes without a bucket. We have to shoot a decent percentage when we get the shots within our offense. We get good shots, but you can't shoot 15% when we get them.

If Iowa shoots the ball more consistently, they have a shot to beat anyone. I know we had issues with free throws against Villanova and ISU, but that seems to have improved. We just can't go STONE cold when we have good shots. That's the key to this team. IMO, the other key is the development of Olesani which has simply been huge for this team right now. With a front line of Basabe, White and Olesani, we can hammer the offensive glass against almost anyone.

We simply have to be a more consistent team from the outside.

The losses to Villanova and Iowa State we had the Killer Instinct until late in the game and lost our concentration. We had those punks and let them steal the game away.....

We just have to keep our intensity with skill and as close to no mistakes at the end of the rest of the games, and we can play with anybody on a given night.....

We found our Killer Instinct against Michigan and I believe we will maintain our composure and concentration with Murderous Fury the rest of the way. That said, I have been worried about Penn State and at Nebraska since before the season. We also found our Killer Instinct at Ohio State. Fran and the Lads get much better as the season goes on. Since Fran's second season we became the team nobody wanted to play near the end of the conference season.....

I think Vegas knows a bit more about the game than ESPN chumps. They have Harvard and MIT grads computing the teams and odds in a serious manner, they want your money.....

As James Brown says: I Feel Good.....

I'll set your mind at ease about Nebraska jack, we don't play them again. :)

They do look pretty good, watched the loss at Wyoming the other night and Wyoming is a well coached dangerous team. Same as Boise State who beat New Mexico.....

I was really surprised how good Wyoming and Boise State played. They play tough with few mistakes....

Fischer has done a good job over the years and has something going for certain....

And with bodyslamming attitude! We cant have " deeer in eyes" kind of games.

Even if we win out, it is somewhat of a long shot being seeded number one. However think how proud Fran and the team are by being considered. It is a reward and extreme compliment for their hard work and excellent teamwork this season, well deserved.....

"...The Pit used to be considered the toughest place to play in America, had a BadA$$ reputation..."

I love that place.
Only place in America where you can get Green chile taco nachos at a NC2A game.

SDSU #22, UNM #43, as per KenPom.
So UNM maybe favored in The Lobo Pit.

2013 a bubble team, 2015 a fringe #1 seed..... All things considered, a pretty nice improvement.

Notice the Cyclone fan in the comments talking more about Iowa than his own Clones.
