Possibly. But it doesn't really matter because i said black people almost always look better. For some reason they just look smoother and more athletic in general. If you don't understand what I'm talking about, you're in the minority.

I loved it that Jacob Hillyer had a highlight game against Indiana when we really needed another guy to step up! He has been pretty silent at times, though I think an earlier poster had it right...must be an exceptional down field blocker. Take a look at his catches and the situations where he made those catches in this game and he comes out as an MVP level guy. And, yes, I have thought the "meercat" was a winner from day 1, even though he comes from Brandenburg,SD, and could only contribute at the MAC level or below.

I remember when Hawknick said VandeBerg would be a very good receiver for us and everybody made fun of him for saying such a thing. No. 89 is turning out to be a great go to receiver. Clutch catches galore!

The truth is, a black guy and a white guy can make the exact same play and the black guy almosy always looks better doing it. It doesn't help production and it doesn't actually make the black guy better, but he does look better. When you couple that with Kirk losing a lot of fan's trust in making personell decisions, how is it so hard to understand how fans would assume Willies is better? Not to mention the fact that just because Vandeberg is obviously good, it doesn't automatically mean Willies was worse.

I agree that that's why he played last year. I would have never doubted it if Kirk gave me reason to trust his decisions. I would say Willies is probably pretty good too. Kids make hasty decisions all the time. Not too mature to blast him over it.

How is that "blasting him for it?" He told the team and his coach that he quit, I am simply stating what he did. Plus why do you call it a "hasty" decision? The kid quit once. Then he said he didn't want to quit. Then he talked to KF and didn't like what he heard, so he went back to quitting the team. It is what it is, he did what he did.

Due to egos this is probably not realistic, but is there any landing destination that would make more sense for Willies next year than Iowa? Already knows the offense, good friends with the QB, graduating receiver at his preferred position, and he could be an important piece of a college football playoffs contender.

Is it less likely that he would ask the team for a clean slate, or that if he asked for one they would welcome him back? I say the former.
