Yeah, it's got to be that. I couldn't be what he does in practice every day, because we can all see what he does in practice every day..... wait a minute...

I doubt McCabe is a different player in practice, but even if he is, Fran has to face reality. McCabe is an undersized and under-athletic stretch four, that is shooting 25% from three in conference play. Maybe he plays like King James in practice, but when the bullets fly, he hurts the Hawks.

I fear that Fran is invested in McCabe on an emotional level now. Will play him even when it's not justified.

I guess that explains why Fran moved a 2 year starter (McCabe) to the bench last year and cut his minutes when the team added more depth and talent.. Your argument has already been proven to be wrong...over a year ago.

Yes, I wish Lickliter was still at Iowa to coach his recruit and give him 35 minutes a game.

McCabe is a prototypical Lick recruit, thanks for pointing that out. Fran has done a great job of improving the talent on the roster, but he is making a mistake with McCabe.

That would be more damning had Fran not just say Gesell and went to McCabe with the chance to tie the game.
