I watched it live, Iowa was in control most of the game even when they weren't hitting shots and shit got sideways for them the last 10 minutes or so. I kind of chalk that up to being a young team that doesn't know how to finish or close out the game vs. it being some indictment on the talent or PG of our team. Sometimes it takes a loss to realize how quickly and easy they can happen. You're unbeatable til you aren't. Games like this can actually help, because it can snowball on you fast and if you don't put teams away, this is what will happen.
This is a young and brand-new team, but they are ahead of where they were last year at this point and give me what we have NOW vs. Perkins, Pat and Bowen IMO. Teams take time to gel, especially ones not dominated by Sr.'s. Roles are still being discovered and Fran's still learning what he has. I also heard the Payton's banged up thing... then why take 14 3's like you said? That can't be. He's wearing that tape because he's injured? If Dix is hurt, sit him til next week. I think they are going to build as the season goes and be a much tougher team in January and February than they are now.
