The Original team would have beaten these guys by 30. International basketball is still more like the NBA of that time with its physicality. The Original frontcourt would have absolutely dominated this team. What people tend to forget is that the only player not a HOF'er is Christian L.
There will never be another team assembled like the Original. On the "loss" in the scrimmage, Daly stopped the game when they were turning it on and left them with a bad taste in their mouth.
The second team of the Original would beat this year's team by 20. The practices were more competitive than any game they ever played in. You have two of the top 10 Centers of all time on the roster, two of the top 5 power forwards, the best defending SF of all time, one of the top 5 PG's of all time and clearly one of, if not the best players in the history of the game at SG and a HOF'er backing him up.
I find it amazing how that roster is so undervalued by people today when there are zero players that would start on that team from the current team. There are only two players on the current roster that will be considered top 5 at their position when their careers are over.
