1-1 now. US is FINALLY starting to put a little pressure up front, but they have been getting dominated. 71st minute.

I've felt the U.S. has been all but dominated in this game and yet it looks like they will advance anyways. Could mean a rout in final if they get it together. France definitely brought the game to us today..

Interesting that France really seemed to be on the attack, especially in the 2nd half, yet the US was able to keep the French at bay, for the most part, before pouring on 2 quick goals.

Don't know a lot about soccer; does the red card go away after the game it is awarded or was the U.S. down a player all game. Doesn't a yellow card stay with a player and when they get two, it's a red card. How does this work?

That player cannot play the next game, but it doesn't mean the team has to play with 10 the next game. They can replace her. She can come back next game. Yes, the yellow stays like you mentioned.

France is a good team. They need some goalkeeping help, but they have great midfielders. Solid win.

On top of what Hawk said, all cards are removed for the final so teams can play at full strength...

Unless the midfield tightens up, controls the zones and makes effective passes to the wings, the US girls are going to struggle against Japan, I fear. Japan is speedy on the wings and plays very tough defense on the back line. Japan's goalkeeper is far better than France's.
