US Open

from reports the course is REALLY tough and only going to get worse they are predicting an above par score will win the us open this year

Oh yeah

And once I played at Pebble Beach, and Jon Miller (Not the one here! haha) came out and played a few holes with our group, and his first swing he takes out a pitching wedge and hits it to 6 inches on the 106 yard par 3! Amazing! Especially for that age!!!

zach shot a 72.

bogey 1,9,12,14 and 18
birdies on 5,6,13,17

rest were pars considering all the bogies zach had a pretty good day and is still very much in the hunt

If he can end the tourney at +1, he'll probably win by 4 shots. +1 is a great score for the first round. The talking heads are projecting a Shinecock type scoring weekend, where the winner (Ogilvy) was +6 or something.

His putting isn't very good (except for the last one). he's not even on the right line. Eventually he's not going to hit every green in regulation and unless he starts to put well, he could be in trouble.

Gotta love the US Open. Pepple is looking impossibly tough. Really like the way they cut the fairways all the way to the hazards.

It's nice to see these guys look mortal every once in awhile. Watching that poor SOB triple a par 3 after shanking a chip was kinda funny. I did feel bad for the college kid who dropped from 12th to 86th after taking a 9 on the 18th. Still...makes for some good TV (and golf is one of my favorite things to watch already. Could give a rip about Tiger and/or Phil).
