Urban Meyer’s exit strategy now firmly in place

Brohm will end up in the NFL before Meyer.
this is a true statement. meyer is done. His health issues are legit. I think after this recent deal, he will be done for good. Maybe come back as an AD or something less visible. Consultant maybe. Brighter note this legit could mean that brohm, meyer, and campbell all gone at the end of the year. that helps the hawks. although unless campbell goes to ohio state to replace meyer, he'll be staying put at least two more years in ames cause of his buyout.

My prediction is that he is done after this year and will take the path of the likes of Jerry Kill and some others where he will be an "Advisor" or "Consultant' and his ego will only allow that to happen for a few years and he will be back coaching at another college spot and that spot will be Iowa. It is the only job where with his past success will carry him a long way and expectations will always be less than any other job he could ask for
I don't know if an olive branch exists long enough to connect Urb and Kirk. But, options open.

He certainly should be at home taking it as easy as possible considering his health issues. Don't really like to see someone in such pain.....

Must be difficult for his family and friends to watch.....

yeah no doubt. his wife is a super nice lady from what I've heard. I know the florida gig took a huge toll on his fam watching him fall apart there.

You could very well be right. But it wouldn't shock me if the NFL came calling and gave him a offer that he couldn't refuse. I just don't think the USC, LSU or Florida St. jobs would do it for him at this point in his career.

I don't either, but I think he may really be done. He may actually have neurological issues, and in that case why not step down, take some time, and maybe go back into broadcasting again? I liked him as an analyst during his previous retirement.

Don’t forget Barry Sweitzer LOL
Barry got to sail into Tokyo Bay, board the USS Missouri, and accept Shigemitsu's declaration of surrender.

Jimmy dropped the atomic bombs.

Switzer was obviously a legend at Oklahoma, however. One of the best recruiters ever.

Jimmy Johnson was once an assistant coach at Iowa State. I believe during the Donnie Duncan administration.

Nope under Johny Majors. Donnie Duncan was a decade later.
Yep. By the Duncan administration, Jimmy would have been HC at Oklahoma State.

In fact, Iowa, Iowa State, Ohio State, and Oklahoma State all opened up in the same year, 1978. Oklahoma State may have been interested in Hayden, but we will never know. Barry Alvarez had just won a high school state championship at Mason City. Wirh his Nebraska and Pennsylvania ties, he may have been on the radar of all four schools as an assistant.

Another job that opened up was Colorado. New England Patriots coach Chuck Fairbanks accepted that job, and left his team in a lurch for the postseason.
