Urban Meyer will own

He will absolutely dominate the Big 10. Ohio State knows how valuable it was to win 6 straight Big 10 Championships. That's why they're going to pay him almost $6M per year.

Urban Meyer will be great for the Big 10 and will raise the bar for everyone else.

His offense won two national championships in the SEC, which is a conference that head and shoulders above the Big 10. Herbstreits comments were correct. Big 10 defenses aren't near what SEC defenses are. Urban's offense will dominate.

With O$U on verge of complete domination and owning the B1G, perhaps Iowa should start talking to the Big East. Clearly we can no longer compete in the new SEC, fuk I'm scared what do we do now?

If I were an O$U fan, I'd be really nervous now that Kaldenberg has given Meyer his endorsement.

And Herbstreit, ESPN, all the national pundits say the Big 10 is down and dying because the Rust Belt population is shrinking. The Big 10 "can't recruit" the kind of athletes the SEC can.

Other, rational people believe in the cyclical history of the sport, and the SEC is simply on a good run with a GREAT collection of coaching talent.

Not so, say the pundits. The Big Ten is going to be the MAC in 20 years as no one will be left in states like Michigan and Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Yet, suddenly here comes Urban Meyer, strolling into Columbus, and suddenly the Buckeyes are going to be every bit as good as the SEC teams. Suddenly, all the reasons for the Big Ten's demise are gone...

So either,

A) Urban Meyer is moving Columbus to southern Georgia.

B) SEC lovers are admitting defeat and the Big Ten isn't as dead as they wish, and maybe things do run in cycles, especially with the right coaches.

I'm curious as to why all the National Championships Urban Meyer has won at Ohio State and all the fancy plays they've run were "impossible in the Big 10" three weeks ago....but now all of a sudden Meyer is riding the Buckeyes to their 14th consecutive National Title....oh, wait....HE HASN'T EVEN SET FOOT ON CAMPUS!

It won't hurt when you can get recruits that say things like this:

“It’s the education part,†Washington continued. “I know all these schools athletically can offer me the same thing. The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you’re giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail.â€ÂÂ*Â*

That's from their latest verbal from yesterday.

WOW!

link me that could you?

As we all know BK Stacker is the great Oracle.

At any rate, check out Michigan's incoming recruiting class. Not sure they're going to be "dominated" in the next few years.

They already have a solid talent base, and it's going to get much, much better. They've got all kinds of four star, BIG D linemen coming in. In a few years, I think we'll likely wish DickRod were still at Michigan. Just my 2 cents. I don't think OSU will own the B10. They'll be at the top, but it won't be complete domination.

Note to self: Either I'm responding to a trolling thread, or another Stacker excellent prognostication thread. Why, self, why?

I honestly hate all the SEC talk, who cares how good the conference is. How has Iowa faired against the SEC in bowl games? They are 4-2 overall but 3-1 since 04. I personally think they are overrated at times. Just my opinion

hahahaha at all the Urban Meyer talk....the dude was great but everyone forgets his Outback Bowl/Cap One bowl years too....it wasn't like he won 7 national titles at UF....

What did Meyer do at Fl.? I think he went:

9-3
13-1
13-1
9-4
13-1
8-5

Not sure if that will cut it at Ohio. He walked into a loaded program as well. I'm pretty sure Ohio will get at least some more schollies reduced for the next few years.

In Jim Tressell's 10 years in Columbus, Ohio State won or shared 7 conference championships, won a national title, and played for two other national titles. It was an historic run of success in the Big Ten. I can't imagine Urban Meyer being better than that.
