I don’t disagree with what you are saying, especially the part about honoring your commitment. That being said, if a athlete takes advantage of the opportunity given to them that’s great. I am also okay with a the person that just wants to “major” in football. All that I require from those “football majors” is that they stay out of trouble and don’t be a knucklehead. College isn’t for everyone and I get that.
If they'd actually do that I'd be for it as well. Make it legit. Teach these guys the business side of things. How to go about interviewing for teams come the draft or themselves interviewing folks that want to be their agents. Not to mention how to handle their finances. There's plenty of practical things to teach some of these guys that a lot of them learn the hard way on their own later.
I guess the next question is is there enough there for it to be considered a major or just a course or two?.. Who am I to decide such a thing I guess
